Like dear old Dad always said, “Once the parasites outnumber the hosts, it’s all over.”
Are you in California? Get out now. Run, don’t walk.
You do not want to be “the last white farmer in Zimbabwe”, believe me.

I assume Cooley is RINO, I didn’t even know LA had a GOP DA.

But I would backed him whole hog over this nightmarish creature.

So, the redistricting reform is the only good thing to come our of Cali this November.

It should mean a small gain of US house seats. Andy Vidak wants a rematch in CA-20.

I just read a breakdown (538, I believe) that Whitman and Fiorina won the white vote in CA - men and women alike, but got slaughtered by the Hispanic/Latino vote - around 20 pts.

Until this trend is countered, the GOP Party in CA is going to be on life support.

Vidak made it close, but I wonder what the result would have been had his surname been different.

Re: CA redistricting and the loss of one seat, I’m reading that CA-11 is possibly going to be broken up and parts of it absorbed into several Bay area districts. If so, that will be one district the GOP had a shot at which will be neutered.

I got all excited about Texas gaining four seats, but then read that likely two of those will have to be Majority/Minority ones because of where the population growth is. So in that state, it will be a wash.

Are you kidding? I didn't see a sarcasm tag.

The trend of hispanic flooding will never be countered. Ever. The number of Hispanics in California will soon pass the number of non-hispanic whites. Currently, 42% of Californians are white, dominated by older age groups. 37% of Californians are Hispanic, dominated by younger age groups. There will come a time when at least 60% of Californians will be hispanic.

California is doomed. It is dead. It is over. Put a fork in it. There will never be a day when "this trend is countered". Whites are fleeing California or dieing off. Hispanics are flooding California and having lots of of chidren. It is over, baby. California is Screwed, Royally.

Move OUT of California.

I'm outta here next June and I'm never coming back. Damn shame, too. San Diego is perhaps the most beautiful place I've ever lived.

The passing of Proposition 20 was our only victory, but it’s a great victory. No more shenanigans from DemocRAT redistricters is a great development. Maybe a new GOP can rise from the ashes now. If nothing else, I am grateful to The Gubernator for getting this passed.

The passing of Proposition 20 was our only victory

Actually, there were several good propositions passed and bad ones defeated. Prop 26 that extends the 2/3 vote requirement to fees was passed. Prop 24, which increases corporate taxes, was defeated. Another additional tax proposition, Prop 21, was also defeated. Prop 27, which was the counterpart to Prop 20, was defeated.

We did lose Prop 25 so the budget can pass on a straight majority vote but that's a mixed bag. In the past, the Republicans were blamed for "obstructing" on the budget but did not get any credit. Now it is all on the Dems.

I am not saying this was a good election for conservatives; it was not. But there were some good parts to it.

Next year will be interesting. In the campaign, Moonbeam said he would not raise taxes WITHOUT VOTER APPROVAL (my emphasis). So you can be d*amned sure there will be special elections asking for increases. Unfortunately, only the public employees and the unions turn out for these so they will probably pass. This happened even in AZ where my family lives. A sales tax increase passed in a special election last May by 2:1.
