Short of a crown physically being placed on Mitts head, this is as close as were likely to get to an official coronation of him as the establishment choice in the primaries. I was giggling while watching it, trying to imagine his reaction as the most RINO-y president of modern times gives him a very public thumbs up, but actually this shouldnt hurt much. The base is already lost to him thanks to RomneyCare, so the best he can hope for now is to consolidate his position among centrists/anti-Palinists. And the Bushes did him a major solid on that front: Not only do they both talk him up, but when pressed on other candidates they like, they mentioned only Pawlenty, Haley Barbour, and Bobby Jindal (who almost certainly isnt running). The omission of Mitch Daniels, a potential genuine threat to Romney, is conspicuous given Danielss service in Dubyas administration. I wonder if that was mere absent-mindedness or a deliberate snub. Ah well. No mystery, though, as to why they failed to mention Palin; Barbaras contempt for her, in particular, is obvious.
Incidentally, now that weve got the Bushes sniping at her and Karl Rove criticizing her show and her fans, does that make this hotly disputed Daily News piece from earlier this month any more credible? Palin supporters bristled at the idea that Dubya might have been privately critical of her, but Im not sure why. Tea partiers are forever reminding us that the movement is as much a reaction to Bush 43 as it is to Obama; if the man behind TARP and years of ballooning deficits doesnt think much of Palin, that only proves her conservative cred, no?

The endorsement was from GHWB (Bush 41) and not from GWB (Bush 43), just to clarify things.
I predict he won’t make it out of New Hampshire. Anyone talking about him as if he is among the frontrunners, is a person who doesn’t know the mood of the GOP base right now.
Make that “dropped 500” for me!
I don’t want Romney. I don’t want Palin either. I will not vote third party...if I could hold my nose and vote for Juan, I can surely vote for ANYBODY over Obama...That stated, someone new needs to step up.
Perhaps McDonnel in Virginia? Chris Cristie? I’d take either of those guys over Romney or Palin.
EXACTLY. Romney of course would be his choice. This is the same guy who had no idea what a scanner was at a cash register if my memory serves me well. Well, my feeling from the masses is we don’t want another country club RINO. I don’t care whom it is as long as it is not main line party RINO.
I consider myself anti-Palin, but I would not cast a vote for Romney under any circumstances. Where Palin is just out of her league in presidential politics and destined for reality TV stardom, Romney is the worst kind of RINO hypocrite. We really cant do any better than Romney, Huckaphony, and Palin?
If you want to traffic in nicknames, you might as well use their real ones: Bar and Poppy.
Go back and study the 1980 presidential primary and that is all you will need to know about Bush 41 and where he stands.
Read my lips: No new taxes.
And this Presidential debate’s taking, like, forever. Wonder what time it is ...
When do we learn George Soros is a “friend” of the Bushes?
That’s about as useful as Joy Behar’s endorsement of Huckabee and I’ll give it about as much consideration when I vote. Mitt Romney is a draft dodging east coast RINO.
Hmmm, have you thought about posting in, “A month in the life of Bush”, thread?
I think you’d be a hit...
This is LDS President Thomas S. Monson exchanging a secret mormon temple "sure sign of the nail" handhsake with Bush...How did Bush learn that ?....Maybe Reid or Romney showed him. ;)
that was the kiss of death for romney
that was the kiss of death for romney
You can say that again.
