Obama Administration: The Pat-Down Outrage Is Overblown!
National Review ^ | 11-22-10 | Jim Geraghty

Posted on 11/22/2010 5:33:58 PM PST by Justaham

The White House and the Department of Homeland Security indicated today that they won’t yield to demands to amend new airline passenger screening rules that have been decried as wildly intrusive.

On the contrary, administration officials are quietly and aggressively defending the policies against what they see as a media frenzy of distorted information. For instance, the administration noted that fewer than one half of one percent of the 34 million passengers who traveled on airplanes in or to the U.S. last week were subjected to crotch-area pat-downs.

They also disputed the very notion of a public backlash, even as those words played ubiquitously on news tickers and as video parodies of the Transportation Safety Administration were being emailed around the globe. Before press coverage of the new rules reached a roar late last week, TSA received only 700 complaints nationwide about its procedures, an administration official said. The official insisted on anonymity because the information was not intended for public release. The issue is sensitive because physical space intrusions are just about the last thing an administration cast by Republicans as prone to governmental overreach needs.

So it appears the commies in the Baraka Hussein administration have succeeded in stealth unionizing the degenerate morons that are currently engaged in feeling up REAL Americans.

Make no mistake about it, the threat posed by government worker unions make the ragheads look like the primitive homosexual amateurs that they are.

...seems to me that the more intrusive pat downs started shortly after Dumbo got his ass kicked in the midterms....

“”administration noted that fewer than one half of one percent of the 34 million passengers who traveled on airplanes in or to the U.S. last week were subjected to crotch-area pat-downs.””

I am surprised the Atlantic attempted this. Over at DU the folks are incensed.

Let’s see now. There were something like 170,000 TSA gropings last week.

How many Muslim men between the age of 20 and 50 were groped?

Or was Obama too busy groping children, cancer survivors, and grannies to inspect his Muslim brethren?

And since TSA is still on a learning curve re groping, we should expect the numbers to increase. A conservative estimate is the TSA will be able to 8.9 people per year.

Of course, this assumes the groping stops with foreplay.

How many Muslim men between the age of 20 and 50 were groped?

And has anyone seen Muslim women go through the scanners, or get a full pat down?

Talk about living in a bubble. The day after tomorrow will be the busiest travel day of the year and these guys have fingers stuck in their ears and are singing "La, la, I can't hear you." The rest of us are getting fingers stuck elsewhere and are ready to light the torches and grab the pitchforks. No public backlash? Good grief.

I don't think "There's no problem here. Let them eat cake. Now excuse me, I'm late for my chartered jet" is going to make a lot of friends. "Bush's fault" isn't getting any traction either, although it's been tried.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

It has been obvious since the inception of the clearly unconstitutional warrantless searches that an arrogant government official announcing "WE decide what's reasonable" was going to cross a line somewhere, sometime, and that as such things go the idiots crossing it would be the last to know.

...the administration noted that fewer than one half of one percent of the 34 million passengers who traveled on airplanes in or to the U.S. last week were subjected to crotch-area pat-downs.

That's 170,000 people per week or 8,840,000 per year who will have their genitals physically groped in violation of the 4th amendment of the US Constitution and as a condition of air travel.

PROTEST NOW! .... Mail a pair of your undershorts to:

Only one half of one percent? That's 170,000 people, zero, you moron!

Most people at so poor at math that they probably just see one and one half percent and think of it as a small number. I saw a youtube showing several pat downs. They probably can't show the private-area pat downs or they'd be subjected to prosecution for pornography. Pray for our country.
