'Dancing With the Stars' Finale with Bristol Palin Mon 8pm Tues-9 Live Thread! VOTE 800-868-3407
WJRT-TV ^ | 11/22/10

Tonight is the final chance for the three remaining contestants on "Dancing With the Stars" to impress the viewers at home.

As we've seen this season in particular, high scores from the judges may be nice. But, it's the viewers who matter because their votes can make an impact.

Going into tonight's season finale are Jennifer Grey, Kyle Massey & Bristol Palin.

Getting to this point wasn't always a smooth trip. There were some tense moments at the production office for "Dancing With the Stars."

ABC says a white powder in an envelope was delivered to the office this past Friday. It turned out to be talcum powder.

But, before they knew that, hazardous materials officials with the city of Los Angeles, fire department, police and FBI arrived at the studio lot where the ABC show airs.

This comes just days after the shock that viewers have put low-scorer Bristol Palin in the finals of "Dancing With the Stars," while voting off Brandy, who's had some of the highest scores from the judges.

Watch tonight's show at 8 p.m. and the results show Tuesday at 9 p.m. on ABC.

Oh, c'mon! Aren't you being a bit - realistic? Being on FR means you have to ignore YOUR opinion and simply agree with the Palin Protectorate.

Hahaha...great comment. What's scary is that, for most people on FR these days, EVERYTHING in life is about politics. I sometimes think they'd spit on their own parents and/or children if the latter were in need of help, but politically liberal.

What's even more scary -- truly frightening, really -- is their insistence on group-think in all things. Group-think is the complete antithesis of the classical liberal principles on which this country was founded, and which uphold the rights of the INDIVIDUAL to think and express themselves freely, to live freely, to worship freely, and so on. At it's core, the modern conservative movement supposedly upholds the classical liberal principles of Washington, Jefferson, Adams, and the other Founding Fathers, but what I see here is simply a mirror image of what Leftists do.

What little time I spend on FR these days is spent trying to push back even a little against the group-think, even though it's a near futile exercise. Then every once in awhile a post such as yours comes along to make the effort worthwhile. :)

PS: For those who don't get it, classical liberalism is most definitely not modern "liberalism," which derives from Marxism.

Oh, some people just never stop.

IF you mean that I should just shut up and go along with the group-think around here like a good little serf, then no, I will never stop resisting that.

No. I mean this is a thread about a dance show and you’re acting as if you’re leading a revolution. Uhh, against what? Bristol Palin? People having fun? Oh, you big rebel you.

Like I said, it backfired on them.

Actually, no, it didn't. By being incapable of separating politics from an entertainment show, you've helped to make them -- meaning the probably liberal owners of ABC and the DWTS show -- a load of money. Money they get to spend on all kinds of things, including Leftist causes if they so desire. Just sayin...

Sorry, but this thread is most definitely not about a dance show. It is about politics. In this case, the politics of supporting Bristol Palin's mother in all things.

As for me, I'm not leading anything, merely pushing back against turning a dance show into a political cause du jour.

I think she said she didn’t like the jive. BUT she was very cute doing it and Sarah and Mark’s mom were whooping it up. That was fun to see.

Wrong dude/dudette. You’re not pushing back against anything but people having fun talking about a dance show. That would make you sound like a liberal. They can’t have fun with anything and constantly look constipated. It’s over tonight, then you might want to move on to complaining about Dancing with the Stars On Ice. D*mn those celebrity skaters!

It’s very kind of you to make that sacrifice. But I fear that you are just too smart for the rest of us and may be wasting your valuable time here. Isn’t there some other thread that may appreciate you more?

Bristol Palin stands to make maybe $100k from this little adventure. Probably more in additional appearances. I imagine she'll spend it wisely and have a comfortable future for here and her child.

Not quite, but close.

The Palins are simply an opportunity to be leveraged here, being in the right place at the right time, so to speak.

This is about "waking the sleeping giant," as the woman at the Arlen Specter townhall said last year.

The 2010 mid-term election confirmed it. It's fortunate that this season of DWTS is coinciding with the historic refudiation of Democrats and liberals, because the built-up energy from the elections needed a place to go to wind down.

I do think that Tea-Party-minded people are enjoying this poke in the eye to liberals, and I can't say that it would have happened anyway had Bristol not been in the cast.

But she is, and we won, and we're all taking advantage of the wave right now.

“When you think about it, Football is very competitive obviously, and requires a great deal of athleticism, choreography, skill, and stamina. All those characteristics could apply to this Dancing competition also.”

My wife and daughter like the dancing show, so I have seen it off an on. They have had many NFL players on it, including Emmitt Smith, and Emmitt won. Jerry Rice was a finalist.

Great video.

He had it coming...

Reminds me of the show, Sarah's Alaska, where Bristol's mom remarks "I wonder what she is thinking when she's doing that"....LOL

I like your posts. A voice of reason in an otherwise pretty whacked out thread. People have made nasty comments to me because I feel the same way. It's an entertainment show, not a political election. So many of the posters on this topic just don't get it. Trying to make a political point via an entertainment show is fanatical and by doing so are playing right into the libs hands. Time for a break from here.

ps. I didn't bother voting. Waste of time to vote for someone who clearly isn't the best dancer. She may be liked the most (people here) but certainly isn't the best dancer. Way too wooden. If Bristol should win, what's that going to do for her self-esteem? She knows she's not the best dancer. So great, her mother's supporters may get her the win. Will that something for her to feel good about?

We love the Palin’s and all they stand for.
We love the relationship between Bristol and her mom.
We love how Bristol has weathered the storm of choosing life for her child.
We love watching her dance.
We love voting for her.

So much to love.
What do you love, Wolfstar?

The shooting episode was one of my favorite parts. It was nice to see the happy go lucky Bristol as opposed to the serious dancer Bristol. Did you see that she started out as a lefty shooter and eventually shot as a righty.
