SmartInsight: “Maybe someone needs to leave a comment that the search is NOT sufficiently thorough...”

That was a smart insight. TSA claims the nude body scanners are necessary. If we accept their premise, then how come the vast majority of passengers are still using the standard metal detectors? TSA only randomly selects a small percentage for the nude scanners, and only those who refuse the scanner receive the pat downs. If the nude scanners aren’t yet available all airports, TSA MUST do pat downs on all passengers at those airports...for security’s sake. Otherwise, passengers from the “unsecure” airports, those without the scanners, will join “secure” passengers at the airline hubs.

In the interest of security, ALL (100%) passengers, crew, maintenance workers, TSA employees, government officials, etc., must submit to the nude scanner OR undergo the genital grope! If a nude scanner isn’t available, genital gropes are MANDATORY. Additionally, if a body cavity or surgically implanted bomb can bring down an aircraft, I submit TSA is negligent if they don’t conduct body cavity (and internal x-ray if necessary) searches of ALL passengers.

Just posted this at the site, hopefully it is somewhat coherent, (I was a bit worked up :))

We know who the terrorists are. The TSA knows who the terrorists are, but in a heroic effort to appear PC, and at all costs, avoid hurting the feelings of people of a particular religious or ethnic persuasion, the government that purports to protect the citizens of the United States is treating us like criminals instead.

Body scans of pilots and flight attendants? This crowning act of stupidity has destroyed any meager shred of credibility that the TSA may have had in the past.

Patting down 87 year old grandmothers and 5 year old children? What are you thinking?

Terrorists fit a particular profile, and my grandmother and my child are light years away from this profile. I am light years away from this profile.

I have come to accept the ritual of scanning my items going through security, but this new “naked scanner” and “aggressive” pat down is a stunning abridgment of my 4th amendment rights which protect me against “unreasonable search and seizure”

If you have a case to make that these security measures are necessary for our safety then you need to make it. To date you have not, and in my estimation you have not made it because you have no case to make.

The alternative is simple, If there have been ZERO acts of terrorism perpetrated by American citizens to date then why not look first for non citizens. If 100 percent of terrorist acts have been perpetrated by Muslims then look at them second, if the terrorist fits an age profile then look at that as well.

Your elaborate PC kabuki dance fools no one. You serve “we the people” we do not serve you, and giving up our constitutional rights is not acceptable under any circumstances. Use some intelligence, come up with a system that does not persecute the very citizens that you pretend to protect. Stop this charade now!
