One of the common themes that people keep mentioning in talking about the new TSA pat down procedures is that those involved must "enjoy" the groping they're giving people. But, of course, most TSA agents are normal every day people who don't actually want to grope random people. Chris Tolles points us to a post from BoardingArea.com, who reached out to some TSA agents and found that many TSA agents hate the new rules and find it to be sapping morale to have to grope passengers. Some of it appears to be the verbal abuse they're getting from travelers, but some of it is just the fact that they have to keep touching people they'd rather not touch in that way:
"It is not comfortable to come to work knowing full well that my hands will be feeling another mans private parts, their butt, their inner thigh. Even worse is having to try and feel inside the flab rolls of obese passengers and we seem to get a lot of obese passengers!"
Of course, it does seem like a lot of the "morale" part comes from everyone accusing them of molesting them. I recognize, they're not the ones making policy, but many of the people being groped do feel violated and it's not surprising that many of them speak out.

Then quit.
Or at least find another job. I know that most probably can’t quit without doing that.
They should also get good legal consul, as they are going to be sued.

Had that happen also.
I told one old boss “I am not going to jail for you.”
He got very mad, until he figured out I meant it.
Get up on the wrong side of the bed today, old FRiend?
Yup.
And one wonders: How many TSA mouth-breathers find groping people so objectionable that they resigned? Apparently not many, if any at all, so it can’t be that bad. . .besides, if they resigned then THEY have to be groped when they fly and they don’t want that.
Post 46.
I just don’t believe they are all suffering. The petty tyrant who treated me as a racist oppressor because he was black and I was Norwegian, and forced me to throw away my yogurt as I entered, was really enjoying his bit of power that morning. I’ve noticed the same attitude at DMV, which I avoid like the plague.
These scanners and subsequent gropings will do nothing to stop a bomber from blowing up a plane.
Exactly how many bombers has the TSA stopped in the last 9 years?
None, they’ve been stopped by passengers.
I honestly dont see how they can keep this thing going.
People are pissed.
If I were to be singled out for the pat down (I won’t go through the irradiating pornometer)I think I would say a few things loudly about how much I’m enjoying it and how good he is and then...”Wait, wait...I know you. I saw you at the leather bar on ____after the Pride Parade last June. You looked really hot in that puce spandex speedo and pink boa. of course, you had (or didn’t have) a mustache then.” As he looks chagrined or starts denying it, I’d continue...”Oh come on. This is 2010. You can be out and proud. It’s about time the people you work with know that you’re gay. Look, I have to be out of town for awhile, but give me your number so I can call you when I get back. But, you’ll have to buy me dinner next time to get to 3rd base.”
My heart breaks. My experience with these people has involved harassment. They are despicable pigs.
I am sure the Nazi guards said the same thing as they murdered Jews and Christians and other “undesirables”.
thats not a real TSA agent, cause I’ve never seen one even close to that pretty.
Can't the government just put something in the water to make use glow?
No, but as some one pointed out up stream, this will result in suffering for the moral ones, who will eventually quit.
Leaving the place full of brownshirts and pervs.
