Well I don’t want to hijack the thread but the hostage rescue mission makes my blood boil to this day. That the Commander and Chief ignored the advice of commanders on the ground and then allowed the Iranians to drag the bodies of our soldiers through the streets in joyous parade was one of the most unbearable and unforgivable things I’ve ever seen in my life.

The only good that came out of it was that it assured Ronald Reagan’s Presidency.

We should have declared war on Iraq. The taking of the hostages was a clear violation of international law. Yet Carter refused to seize upon it. he must have been totally out of his mind.
