(The Hill)- Liberals furious with a White House they view as constantly telegraphing compromise with Republicans are pressuring President Obama to get tougher, arguing that is the only way he will win both progressives and independents in 2012.
Adam Green, co-founder of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC) and an outspoken critic of the White House, said liberal anger has less to do with fears of a Clintonian move to the middle by Obama and more with a misreading of the election results by the administration.

Obama would have to borrow some political capital from the Chinese to have any to spend...and those progressives probably would like that.
Republicans should fight that liberal use of the word “progressive”....as if “progress” comes only through and by the national, public sector.
The private sector delivers plenty of progress, whereas government often hinders it...
When the hell did the Kenyan ever compromise with Republicans? This is propaganda! They’re not the majority and they know it. Even the liberals where I live are sick of the fraud in the WH!

I don't know about crushing them in two years. They are being crushed, though.
As the "main stream media" loses power, the Democrats and hard left are going to move on to other tactics, like vote/voter fraud, including suppression of military ballots and votes for prisoner felons and mentally incapacitated people, as well as the traditional graveyard voters, made-up voters, illegal immigrant voters, and multiple voters. New vistas are opening up because of electronic voting machines as well.
In addition, efforts to subvert and undermine state-level voting systems have been successful, and this will breed more scams, some of which will look like "screw ups" of incompetant election officials.
Let’s rock. Drive down the Kenyan’s poll numbers some more.
