As for Romney, the one thing to me that gives him an advantage over McCain is his business-saving experience at Bain and his resurrection of the Salt Lake City Olympics. However, the old blue-blood Republicans won out and anointed McCain because they thought he was due. This same mentality is what gave us Bush Sr. (the anti-Reagan) in 1988 and Bob Dole ("I became a Republican because that's how you get elected in Kansas") in 1996.
A large percentage of the McCain supporters on this thread (including myself) admitted that we were holding our nose and voting for McCain because their were no better viable options.

This confuses me. Why are you supporting Romney if this is a concern to you? The Romney family has a longer history of fighting the movement conservatives (including Reagan) than the Bush family.
