I've become completely convinced that if Americans won't stand-up to protect innocent life then we deserve whatever government we wind up with.

It wasn't social conservatives who gave America the most pro-death president in our history, it was all of the people who decided to ignore abortion because they didn't think it was important (and that includes McCain).

Once again, I must repeat:

Some people at FR, and in the population in general, continue to confuse the Conservative movement and the GOP with the Libertarian Movement and/or Party. They are not one in the same: The GOP platform itself is Pro-Life, and calls for appropriate action on the issues as a Party.

Though Libertarians are part of the greater coalition on the Right in many cases, it is important to remember that neither FR, nor the greater Conservative movement, nor the actual GOP platform is Libertarian on Abortion (other social issues vary by issue).

Conservative, not Libertarian. Social issues are a part of the three-legged Conservative stool, and of of equal important to the other legs (Defense, Fiscal Conservatism). None shall be tossed in favor of the others, none.
