The libertarian pose is just that, so phony and pretentious, like the only mature response to all issues is to say "Hey, it HAPPENS! Helloooo! Stop being so silly and accept reality!" As if the only choices are to be in support of a completely invasive totalitarian state or a free-for-all.
Conservative thought doesn't say there should be NO government, but limited government.
The thinking behind some of the posts on this thread has me wondering what flippin' planet I live on. It sure isn't this reality where we all nod, and say, oh, of course it's so sad that this happens, but we can't do anything about it, so let's just grow up and admit it...
It wasn't social conservatives who gave America the most pro-death president in our history, it was all of the people who decided to ignore abortion because they didn't think it was important (and that includes McCain).
