DeMint says a new RNC chairman is needed

Shortcomings in Republican efforts during the elections are a reason Michael Steele should not continue as chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC), a senator said in an interview Sunday.

"Our ground game, was not as strong as it could've been. We were outmanned on the ground," Sen. Jim DeMint said on Fox New Sunday.

Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) said Steele should be ousted because Republicans could have done a better job reaching voters.

Might want to pick a person who is not wishy-washy on the abortion issue this time. I haven’t donated one nickel since Steele took over.

Calls for Palin to step in as head of RNC should come with an explanation for why she shouldn’t run for president. Otherwise it just seems out of place.

I daresay, most people claiming to want Palin as a replacement for Steele are highly likely to be liberals or other anti-Constitution subversives who are terrified of a Palin presidency, because they know she would fight against socialism like no other.

I don’t get it - so many people say, Sarah Palin for RNC Chairman. How could she be that since she’s not in Congress?? Can anyone be RNC Chairman?

DeMint is the new steel..., as opposed to other weaker metals.

Steele, not so much. When I’m wrong, I sure pick bad times to do it.

For everyone’s sake Steele, take a walk.

DeMint joins the chorus. Good.

May be Steele will FINALLY hear the chorus.

He would be a Free Republic dream candidate

He's too southern for south bashers and race baiters here ...trust me on this. Were Haley Barbour a bit more conservative..he too would be more loved here...they would bash him too....for the same reason.

Same folks who think Christie is really conservative.

LOL! Too Southern argument is elitist B.S.

Yeah some people here think Bush is conservative, but he really was not economically. I would be fine with Haley Barbour, but I just don’t see him getting mass appeal.

RNC Chairman Palin has a nice ring to it.

Since when did we start promoting the idea of the front runner, conservative, presidential candidate, dropping out to run the RNC?

“And Rudy would be a fine AG.”

I have to second that one. Look what’s happened to NYC since his departure. And even though he’s a RINO, I’ll always admire him for 9/11. No one can ever take that away from him. I doubt if he’d treat terrorists with kid gloves.
