We should have learned from Sharron Angle, Christine O’Donnell, Joe Miller, and Ken Buck that magical thinking doesn’t win elections.

We can afford to lose a few senate seats on a bold gamble. But we cannot afford to lose the presidential election to 0bama again. Too much is at risk.

If 0bama is reelected, it means 0bamaCare will never go away. It means the American way of life is over. American prosperity gone for good. European employment levels will be the new normal. The return of the Wellfare State. America will be a Taker nation instead of a Maker nation. Big Government will become Omnipresent Government. Israel will cease to exist. These issues are bigger than any one person. The temporary resident of the White House does not matter. Preserving and protecting the nation for future generations is the only thing that does.

We need to step up our game in 2012. I don’t know who the Republicans nominate. The only thing that matters is that person needs to end 0bama’s reign of terror.

Palin consistently loses to 0bama in head to head match-ups. Often, her name is the only one that loses to 0bama. Believe these polls. We can’t afford to dismiss them. Palin is a known entity. She has near universal name ID already. She is not going to pick up votes. People have already made up their minds. She has no room for improvement.

See "Reagan polls" with the same precise standing. You simply CANNOT draw conclusions from polls this far out from elections.

Balderdash. The "media image" of Palin is nothing like the reality. With every step she takes, she is overcoming that image, in precisely the same way that Reagan did....by "bypassing" the media and making her case directly with the people. And by the time she runs, she will be both Teflon-coated and bullet-proof, as they will have cast all their stones, and have none left, even more so than Reagan.

What ridiculous analogies.

The country as whole is FAR more conservative than Delaware and Colorado.

Secondly, you seem to be forgetting that PALIN WON and became the governor or Alaska. The other four lost. BTW, Miller, if ends up losing, lost to a Republican not a Democrat. So, to even use him as an example is lunacy.

Thirdly, the morons that run the Republican party did not sufficiently fund Angle or Buck or both likely would have won their races. Angle was ahead in every poll going and got beat because labor unions and casinos owners ran a better ground game.

BTW, exit polls showed Mike Castle losing to Coons. Are you suggesting Republicans run someone to the left of Castle for President so they can try to win Delaware? Or do you admit that what happened in Delaware in meaningless to the GOP’s Presidential hopes?

Good post.

Sarah P. seems like nice enough person. But this half-term governor of a very small (population) state isn't leader-of-the-free-world material in many people's book.

The Obama White House will be popping champagne corks the day she gets the GOP nomination.

Huckabee is worse than Obama.

Huckabee was a socialist as Arkansas Governor.

Huckabee did EVERYTHING it could for illegals. Even Obama hasn't tried Amnesty.

This fake, this monstrosity Huckabee is not a man of God as it professes to be. It is lying , saying it is a conservative. It's record proves otherwise.

Palin is the only thing Keeping this piece of excrement Huckabee from being president.

If Palin doesn't run the liberal mainstream media would pick Huckabee as the Republican nominee as they did McCain.

Huckabee would give Amnesty to illegals ,do worse things than Obama , and give the democrats/socialists a permanent super majority.

Palin is our only hope. Huckabee is already in New Hampshire and most Republicans don't know this Hukster’s record and believe what it's lying mouth says.

2 years out, that is an absurdly irrelevant observation.

It betrays hysterical fear, and a willingness to believe what you're told to believe by the pundits.

Their only hope is to short circuit a Palin candidacy, because they know in their heart of hearts that she is an immense threat to Obama.

Whereas some of these other candidates may look good now, they may well fade, while Palin will only wax stronger.

While I have reservations about Palin myself, I'm certainly not going to fall into the trap of dismissing her out of hand just because some meaningless poll tells me to.

I have news for you: the 2012 GOP Presidential nomination is HERS for the taking, if she wants it.

Who are your GOP "frontrunners" again?
