Hannity was surprised to hear a famous ex Air Force General tell him That Is A Missile, Shot From A Submarine! I quote retired Air Force Lieutenant General Tom McInerney (ex commander of 11th Air Force in Alaska) I spent 35 years flying fighters, and you can see the guidance system kick in, I have watched that film 10 times, I am absolutely certain that that is not an aircraft, but a sub launch ICBM missile!!! See the video and judge his words for yourself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LivRJOWrcpA&feature=player_embedded#! I will next post a clickable link.
Very well put. I remember that skit well. LOL
I do have 15 years of Radar and Tracking and shooting things down but this one is something I will not dismiss easily. I don’t think a squad of F-4 smokers could do this.
Its somewhat disconcerting reading that retired Air Force Lieutenant General Tom McInerney took this position. A guy with that much experience should not be fooled into thinking this was a missile.
The General is backed up by Doug Richardson, editor of Jane’s Missiles and Rockets. What about him?
It’s funny, right? That a FReeper could self-deceive to this degree.
Good to know that our finest Lt. General’s are now as deluded as what we ourselves can see with our own eyes...
He is deluded and mistaken. Not them.
And the US Ambassador to NATO, Robert Ellsworth: “It’s spectacular. Takes your breath away. It’s a sub launched ICBM !”
And Jane’s.
Oh well, the list for sanity, and the obvious, is expanding; Perhaps the sneering insulters will proportionately shrink.
I agree that it looks like it could be the contrail from a jet.
What makes me more than skeptical of that though is that dead center of the leading element is a white ball of light.
I have seen several launches and that light coming from the main engine is not something that you can confuse or replace with anything that a commercial jet aircraft can begin to reproduce. Cameras providing coverage lose the ability to project that brightness of that light over the air.
When you actually visually observe a live launch, that white light can be so bright that it will actually hurt your eyes if you try to look directly at it. Its best that you look peripherally not direct at that light.
So to me, it seems, that this question can evaluated by performing some spectral analysis of that white spot from the original video to see what the specific data for that light tells us about that spot and what known sources are for that light.
I’m pretty sure we have exacting light spectral data for our sea based ICBMs but I would not know if we have the actual data regarding such ICBMs from Chine or Russia.
The data from that bright spot should be able to lead us in the direction of what this actually was.
And I would bet that the powers that be already know.
What is going on is that you missile believers want something exciting, and you are ignoring all logic, physics, and analytic geometry to make something exciting of a totally innocuous and commonplace airliner signature.
And that includes such self-deluded "experts" as McInerny.
McInerny did not see the early portion of that "flight". That video only covered the last minute or so of the flight. He based his "guidance kicking in" conclusion on shear wind distortion of the contrail that happened many minutes earlier than the video. IOW, he did not see the portion of the flight that he based his verdict on...
Simple test: ask McInerny (and yourself) whether the direction of flight was toward or away from the viewer...
And ask if the exact same thing occurred at the same time and location on preceding and following days.
Honest answers to those two questions will force you to face the truth. (It was AWE808).)
A Launch looks far to similar to this. I was trying to key on the spin and change of azimuth that seems very similar to a boost. I don’t know what it is, but everyone else seems to think it’s just another plane going to PHX. Oh well.
It could’a sea’d, but the traffic chopper likely didn’t see it.
I’m going to make a prediction and say these “missile truthers” in the media will slowly start to walk back their opinions in the coming days and weeks.
It may not be necessary to point out, butm FYI: A Lieutenant General wore 3 stars on his epaulets.
The stupidity of the gubmint in trying to sell that missile launch as a jet contrail defies comment. After the missile gained a little altitude you could clearly see the orange glow of the flames shooting out the rear from the rocket engine!
Is that because of the flood of information given out by NORAD.....
US Airways still isn’t talking.

That occasion was one of the few times I vehemently disagreed with El Rushbo. That FBI guy, Jim Whatzizname “assured” Rush that Flt. 800 was not downed by a missile, and Rush bought it....or at least he led his audience to BELIEVE he did.
I guess “Jim” felt he HAD to tell that yarn to continue getting his pension, but to my little six volt mind his story was a 15 gallon crock!
Flight 800, over Long Island.
The US Air Trident 2 project is still in its testing phase. :^)
I agree. It was a missile. I’ve seen missiles launched and plane contrails.
The difference is obvious and if it were a plane they would know what plane it was. IMO
He “watched the video 10 times” and never notice the thing took 10 minutes to go that little distance
I think these guys are toying with you.
