Man charged with assault at Muslim poppy-burning protest

A man was today charged with assaulting a police officer after a poppy burning protest by an Islamic group in London.

Stephen Lennon, 27, the founder of the English Defence League, which was protesting against the burning, was bailed to appear at West London magistrates' court on 22 November.

Two other men, aged 30 and 25, were arrested for public order offences and were bailed pending further inquiries.

Another man was arrested for possession of Class A drugs, and four men, aged 41, 42, 19 and 18, who were arrested for affray were also bailed after the protest in Exhibition Road near the Royal Albert Hall.

Members of Islam Against Crusaders set fire to a large poppy as the clock struck 11am on Armistice Day and chanted "British soldiers burn in hell" during their protest.

Demonstrator Abu Rayah, from east London, said yesterday: “We're here because people talk about all this patriotism but people in Afghanistan want Sharia and the soldiers keep dropping cluster bombs on our people and it's like they just want us dead. We want British and American troops out of Afghanistan now.”

Police stood between the group and members of the English Defence League who were mounting a counter demonstration, and officer was taken to hospital with a head injury during clashes.

Father-of-two Lennon, also known as Yaxley-Lennon and Tommy Robinson, has spoken on behalf of the EDL.

“their lands” were conquered by Islamist warlords centuries ago. The people living in those lands have just as much right to religious freedom.

Islamic lands is a myth, land knows no “faith”. Man has an undeniable right to freedom of religion.

The Saudi state FUNDS Islamist expansion into other countries. Not as a “cultural exchange” but as immigrant colonies to take the land. There is no “exchange” as Saudi Arabia burns all non-Islamic religious texts.

red paper poppies worn on Rememberance Day to honor the fallen in WWI. refer to the poem “Flanders Fields”. Hence, the burning of the “poppies” is a great insult to Brits who still see honour in remembering the sacrifices of their military countrymen. Old ways and traditions: not politically correct, don’t cha know?

I think I want them out too, followed by turning the entire country of Ashcanistan into an above-ground nuclear test site and toxic waste dump.

The red poppy is the UK symbol of the war dead from WWI - “In Flanders’ Fields...”
November 11 is “Remembrance Day” through the UK for the war dead of WWI.

When someone better comes along, give ‘em your support.
Until then, they seem to be all the UK has.

"Any truth that you've never been to England"

Thats classified... ;)

Regardless, I have no doubt that once people look into these guys for themselves they will be able to see through the BS flak. We wouldn't be here on FR if we didn't already have an immunity to BS propaganda and indoctrination.

Its EASY to recognize these guys as just normal folks who are VERY pissed off that their country and culture are on the edge of an abyss.

I really don’t care what they do in their own hell hole countries. I just don’t want them here. If the people living in those lands want religious freedom, they will have to fight for it like we did. We cannot cure the world’s ills, but we can restore order to our own house. Saudis would be among those whom I would ban from even traveling here. Nasty people.

*We want British and American troops out of Afghanistan now.”
Yet, Abu, you seem to be living nicely in Britain and not in Afghanistan.*

How about we make a trade?
All the Muslims who like the Taliban and terrorist ideals go back to your home countries and never send anyone with your ideas and hatred to the West and we leave Afghanistan?

OK?

The EDL are not a simple patriotic tea party, wish that they were, they are a far right group with links to the BNP and beyond, to British neo-nazi groups like Combat 18. Irrespective of the Muslim threat, many in the EDL are equally not as fond of Jews, Catholics, the Irish...

British freepers are trying to make members here see that these guys are not the John Bull heroes you think they are.

Not supporting the EDL because you know their dubious background does not equal being a dhimmi. British freepers are trying to warn you that the EDL are not the British tea party many of you seem to think, that they are a damn site more sinister than that.

Alas, few here seem to want to listen.

Oh, I agree. I have no illusions about the EDL—its a borderline racist group. I made my comment knowing that. The sad part is that groups like the EDL are an imperfect reaction to a fundamental flaw in English political society. The establishment refuses to counteract a clear and present danger that openly mocks all things British. If there is no positive way to channel protest to the Muslims who do things like this, there will be a negative reaction like BNP and EDL.

Rudy, I have a message for you....lol

Dont bother, I had a tete a tete with myself6 a few weeks ago. I have explained to him the background of the EDL.

He simply ignored me and claimed that I am part of a leftist conspiracy to blacken the EDL’s name.

Actually, two Muslim burners were arrested as well.

The problem there is that EVERY Muslim there should have been arrested. I have no problem with the knuckledragging EDL being nicked, as long as those they are protesting against are also.

Why were the Muzzies burning poppies?

In UK related countries, the poppy is a symbol of respect to military veterans.

My dear Scottish friend - your two boys north of the Hadrians Wall named Brown and Bliar caused far more damage to the UK than the EDL, National Front, Goering, Hitler’s SS, Oswwald Mosely or the KKK in a few short years.

Almost anyone who stops Islam in the UK is preferable to the Islamists. The boiling frog, formerly known as the people who gave us the Magna Carta, has just about been boiled to death by the Islamists in their own or formerly own country.

Hey EDL, my suggestion to you - bring bacon, sausage, lard, and chitlins. Start a food fight.

Your enemies will quickly scamper away never to protest again.
