Does the new Kenyan constitution have sharia in it?

That was one of the things Odinga used to get the Muslims to support him - a promise that he would help them get sharia instituted, according to the Christian churches. Somebody posted a document that had the signatures of the Muslim leaders. Then the Muslim leaders came up with a different document they said they signed.

If their constitution has sharia in it now that’s a huge red flag.

Another thing that was in the agreement that the Christian leaders said Odinga made was that he would reverse Kenya’s cooperation with America’s anti-terrorism measures. After that bombing in Kenya we did a lot with Kenya because it’s such a central point in the terrorism hub there. The Muslims never liked that and Odinga promised to accommodate the Muslims on that.

Again - it’s that Soros-communist-Islamist-Obama connection. We see that all over the place. Wonder why that is...

From the new Kenyan constitution:

24.(1) A right or fundamental freedom in the Bill of Rights shall not be limited except by law, and then only to the extent that the limitation is reasonable and justifiable in an open and democratic society based on human dignity, equality and freedom...

24.(4) The provisions of this Chapter shall be qualified to the extent strictly necessary for the application of Muslim law before the Kadhis' courts, to persons who profess the Muslim religion, in matters pertaining to personal status, marriage, divorce and inheritance.

INTERNAL MEMO

Excerpt:

The Class Issue

It is possible to trigger a class war by painting the Kibaki Government as an insensitive, uncaring group of Muthaiga Golf clubbers. Available research also suggests that this strategy could also resonate with poor kikuyu youth who feel economically marginalized by their own government. As part of this strategy the party should seek to elevate the emotions within all youth constituents who may it successful, be willing to vote for us in the protest. Visible signs of class disparity will provide important fodder for this theme.

Pro-West

It is absolutely essential that through out this campaign, Raila remain aligned to the Western Countries (such as the United States) in order to take advantage of the deteriorating relationship between them and Kibaki. ODM can expect both financial and political support particularly from the United States.

FACTBOX - Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga

(Reuters) - Opposition leader Raila Odinga was formally launching on Saturday the election campaign of his Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ahead of a December vote.

Here are key facts about him:

* The 62-year-old was born on Jan 2, 1945, in Maseno, west Kenya. He comes from the Luo tribe, one of Kenya’s largest.

* Raila is the son of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, a nationalist hero and Kenya’s first vice president after 1963 independence from Britain. His father later became a key opposition figure against the governments of both founding President Jomo Kenyatta and his successor President Daniel arap Moi.

* Viewed as a firebrand by many Kenyans, Raila’s confession in a book that he masterminded an attempted coup in 1982 instilled the perception further. Now he is trying to project a more moderate, business-friendly face.

* Educated in communist former East Germany, Odinga named his first-born son Fidel Castro. Representing Nairobi’s Kibera slum, one of Africa’s largest, Odinga projects himself as a champion of the poor. But he has a large business empire and falls squarely into Kenya’s wealthy elite.

* Analysts say his policies would differ little from Raila’s, though his style could be more confrontational than incumbent President Mwai Kibaki’s laid-back style.

* Odinga was jailed for a total of eight years on separate occasions by former president Moi for protesting against one-party rule. After the coup bid, he was briefly charged with treason, before fleeing to Norway for a brief period of exile.

* A former ally of Kibaki, he helped him win power in 2002 and served for three years in his cabinet before being sacked for campaigning against him in a 2005 constitutional referendum.

* That plebiscite saw the emergence of Odinga’s Orange Democratic Party, currently ahead in polls. Odinga’s flamboyant style has seen him driving to rallies in a bright red Hummer H2 — said to be Kenya’s first — that has drawn gawping crowds

Odinga’s agreement with Muslim leaders

Although Odinga professes to be an Anglican Christian, concerns even today continue to circulate that he intends to pursue an undeclared radical Islamic political agenda.

The concerns grew, especially among Kenya’s Christian leaders, as rumors circulated prior to the December 2007 presidential election that Odinga had signed a secret agreement with radical Muslim leaders.

Finally, a Memorandum of Understanding, or MOU, which Odinga had signed with radical Muslims was posted on the website of the Evangelical Alliance of Kenya, a national Christian religious organization established in 1975.

What appears documented by Kenyan newspaper and television news reports is that Odinga, representing the Orange Democratic Movement, or ODM, and Sheik Abdullah Abdi, the chairman of the National Muslim Leaders Forum, or NAMLEF, signed an agreement Aug. 29, 2007.

The second news video shows a press conference held during the Kenyan election campaign and broadcast in Kenya by Nairobi-based NTV.

The NTV news report shows Sheik Abdullah Abdi, the chairman of NAMLEF, discussing the MOU point-by-point.

Regretfully, the agreement referred to in the WND article has been removed from the website quoted:

The Evangelical Alliance of Kenya has posted on its website a photograph copy of a Memorandum of Understanding, dated and signed on August 29, 2007, between Raila Odinga and Shiekh Abdullah Abdi, chairman of the National Muslim Leaders Forum of Kenya.

It pledges the support of Kenyan Moslems for Raila’s election. In return, as President of Kenya, Raila agrees to 14 actions, listed a) through n) on page two. Read them all, and be sure you’re sitting down. Here’s a sample:

b) Within 6 months re-write the Constitution of Kenya to recognize Shariah as the only true law sanctioned by the Holy Quran for Muslim declared regions.

c) With immediate effect dismiss the Commissioner of Police who has allowed himself to be used by heathens and Zionists to oppress the Kenyan Muslim community.

g) Within one year facilitate the establishment of a Shariah court in every Kenyan divisional headquarters. [Note: everywhere in Kenya, not just in “Muslim declared regions.”]
