I thought I read that it was part of Alaskan election law that voter intent is not enough - the name MUST be spelled correctly or it is discounted. You can bet if this was a Republican write in, the law would be used to the max.

That is my understanding of how the LAW reads....I don't think it says anything about "intent." If push comes to shove I hope he fights for every vote!

“State law says a write-in vote should be counted if the write-in line is filled in with the candidate’s name, as written on the candidate’s paperwork, or at least a last name. The law says “there are no exceptions” to such rules.”
