Federal immigration judges in New York this year rejected 70 percent of deportation requests filed by immigration enforcement agents, continuing a trend that's grown markedly in the past six years, according to an analysis of government data released Tuesday.

The case-by-case study of the data showed similar rejection rates in fiscal year 2010 for other large immigrant cities...

The current trend is to always check NO on the ballot for “judge” retention. Throw the black robed piggies out! There may be a couple good “judges” left out there but we’ll know who they are and make exceptions.

Exactly. They need more “U.S. citizens” to cancel out the votes of Americans.

An associated problem is the curricular trends in law schools toward social justice.

Immigration judges aren’t article III judges or state judges where there’s an election-retention process. They’re administrative law judges. The immigration process is pretty much like the DMV but in a psuedo-courtroom. I’m shocked the NY average is so high.

The last data i’d seen on this is at http://trac.syr.edu/immigration/reports/160/index.html. I’m not sure what the “true” asylum grant rate should be, but it should alarm everyone that the percentages vary so wildly between immigration judges.

A lot of the immigration judges are probably former immigration lawyers. As a class, these types of lawyers are more likely to be pro-amnesty, anti-border enforcement types.

Only more reason that if we take back the white house we need to have a huge purge and sack the left from government. Most of the people being kept here are career criminals anyway and they will show up before the system again.
