On Monday, MSNBC host Dylan Ratigan seemed to suggest the time may be right for violent revolution in the United States.
While interviewing liberal cartoonist Ted Rall, the host appeared to support the idea. Lachlan Markay of Newsbusters quoted the host:
"Are things in our country so bad that it might actually be time for a revolution?" Ratigan asked. "The answer obviously is yes," he added, and "the only question is how to do it."
Rall was promoting his book, "The Anti-American Manifesto", where he calls for violent revolution. Ed Morrissey of Hot Air posted an excerpt from the book:
We are here because the U.S. is going to end soon. There’s going to be an intense, violent, probably haphazard struggle for control. It’s going to come down to us versus them. The question is: What are you going to do about it?…

A war is coming. At stake: our lives, the planet, freedom, living. The government, the corporations, and the extreme right are prepared to coalesce into an Axis of Evil. Are you going to fight back? Will you do whatever it takes, including taking up arms?
From this excerpt, one gets the impression that Rall is calling for a civil war between liberals and conservatives - specifically the Tea Party, and he appears to openly call for liberals to take up arms against anyone on the right.
When Sharron Angle spoke of a "2nd Amendment solution" to the nation's problems, liberal media outlets like MSNBC went berserk. But Ratigan appeared to be okay with liberals taking to the streets in open, armed conflict.
In early October, Rall expressed support for a communist-style dictatorship in the United States in an interview with washingtoncitypaper.com.
In that interview, he said Thomas Jefferson was the American leader he admired the most. However, the man who helped create America's founding documents would probably not support a communist dictatorship.
In the interview with Ratigan, Rall ironically quoted John Locke; "It's up to the people. John Locke said, the people have an obligation to revolt when their government's fails.
Markay noted the irony:
That's right, Rall quoted the philosopher arguably most influential among American revolutionaries to suggest that another revolution would be justified. Gee, that sure sounds a lot like Tea Party protesters holding up signs demanding we "water the tree of liberty" - with the blood of patriots and tyrants, as Thomas Jefferson famously said.
Apparently, liberals calling for violent revolution and a Soviet-style communist dictatorship in the United States is okay with the hosts at MSNBC, but conservatives who want a return to Constitutional principles are radical.
No this pussy isn’t calling for armed conflict as much as he is calling for a return to Weathermen bombing targeting places like national review ogives and other conservative targets. I’ll be DAMNED if they’re going to get away with that crap in this day and age.

How about the woman with the chimpanzee that went nuts and ripped her friend to pieces. She just smacked of liberal Democrat. But guess what? When the chimp snapped, she grabbed a gun out of her nightstand and frantically tried to shoot the thing. Even an unhinged person who would take baths with a chimpanzee and feed him wine was smart enough to do what had to be done. I mean, what was the alternative? Call Marvin from the ACLU to come and reason with a psychotic animal?

Americans don’t piss themselves at the sight of someone holding a gun. The girlymen better come with a lot of Huggies because one should never pick a fight with a wet spot spreading across the front of their pants.
Weenies like Rall won’t do anything, they’ll just talk a big story and then hide down at Starbucks. And the only thing they’re protesting is that Obama isn’t radical-socialist enough.

I almost hope they would try, but the financial cost wouldn't be worth it. Remember these are the pansies that whine everytime they go to a G20 summit and sniff a little OC.

I am trying to get a civilian SCAR. I got to fire the real machine last week and it was pretty awesome. Kind of hard to control full auto, though.
I too am in the Bay Area and the lefties I know think their .22 rifles and handguns will it for them.
I always laugh and ask them if they ever took the time to consider why hunters use .30cal and above.
They honestly believe they are going to shoot an attacker right between the eyes. LOL
They ask me what I would do and I tell them “why mess around?”
“First, who the hell want to be so close you can shoot them in between the eyes?”.
“Second, I prefer to range them at a couple hundred yards”
They always chime in and say they can hit a couple hundred yards out.
I laugh saying “Maybe. Don’t think so and your bullets effect range is a little further back”.
“Use .308 for a long distance cordless drill or to reach out and touch somebody. I ain’t interested in meeting the person who wants to do me harm”.

.308 BTW is very common for Snipers as is .300 Hornady.

They also shoot .338 Lapua for extra long distances.
I have one of the 16 inch M1As and it is horrible. I've tried several types of ammo and they all suck. Maybe 18 inches is as short as you want to go. I sent it back to the factory and they recrowned the barrel and sent back a target they shot with Federal Match that was still 3 inches at 100 yds. If you use cheap ammo it practically patterns at 100 yds. Pretty disappointing.
