Did someone say singing?

"Can't" explain, or won't?

If it can't, we are basically dead.

If it won't, we'll probably end up basically dead, because they're covering up for Caliph Soetoro.

I think the not really knowing is making me edgy AND the fact that our govt appears not to give a flying fig (paired with the feeling that even if they did our glorious leader is not someone I have any confidence in anyway).

Aren't you comforted by this line (from FOXNEWS):

...'unexplained' by anyone in the military, Pentagon officials say, but they insist there was 'no threat to the homeland.'

I guess there was 'no threat to the homeland' because, after the fact, they can see that it missed.

The massive breakdown in our defenses that you speak of occurred January 20, 2009.

When a country has poor leaders, the people will pay the price in blood. I find it hard to believe that a foreign sub could get within 35 miles of the US west coast without being detected. On the other hand, if it can, Katie bar the door. We are in deep kimchee.

whatever it is, it’s sizable but not remotely like any ICBM or SLBM so far as I can see (but I’m no expert!) Doesn’t seem impressive enough to be a “demonstration test” for Asian govts etc. But why the mystery about who launched it and why?

Let's see. It's not far from Hollywood. So, what are the chances it's simply a publicity stunt for a new movie?

There was a NOTAM published for this area at the time of the launch.

As has been noted on the many previous postings of this story.

Of course the Pentagon knows what happened. We have satellites everywhere. They can tell exactly where it came from, how big and who done it. Norad knew 5 seconds after that missile went off exactly what the deal was.

Is it just me or does anybody else find it strange that the President, Vice President, Sec of State and her hubby are all out of the country right now?

This missile was large like an ICBM and it either came from a ship or a sub. Maybe the Chinese blew one off and now behind closed doors are telling our people that the next one is going to be live. They are pretty ticked off about QE2. Whatever it is its a BIG deal.

I agree, that was pretty persuasive.

I'd like to see if somebody with real knowledge of such things can debunk that explanation.

If that's explanation is proven, Ellsworth is going to look like a boob.

If the air traffic is normal then we have a problem.

Another poster mentioned on an earlier thread that one indicator of friend or foe would be military (Naval) activity in and around the area and time. Heavy activity afterward would likely indicate foe.

I thought of that too. Can you imagine the “shrinkage” he’s experiencing right now? :)

I don’t....
You can’t find something if you aren’t looking for it.

And Diesel-Electric technologies have advanced dramaticly in the last couple of decades.

Many DE’s are now QUIETER than Nuke subs.

My gut tells me this is the Chi-Coms delievering a very clear message to Obama.
