Imagery from WSR-88D sites would seem to be next to useless in observing this event, with scan-data (volume scan data) only available every 10 mins or so ... there is an outside chance one of the ‘volume scans’ caught some of the missile/contrail.
The WSR-88D’s out there seem to have been in clear-air mode at the time from what little RADAR imagery I’ve looked at so far.
Hmmmm ... should be ASR9 or ASR11 (RADAR) data available on this event ...... much like the MUFON explains in their 77-page MUFON report about the January 8, 2008 incident in/near Stephenville, Texas.
What are the chances this was some sort of odd reflection, image-light-bending phenomenon that transpired and this missile shot was actually some hundreds of miles further west?
