"And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny" (Rev 6:6).
Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

Time to haul out ye ole bread machine and start stocking up on yeast and flour!

The price will not be the only concern - just plain unavailability of food products may be severe.
I increase our garden space by 32 sq. ft. each spring (that's only limited by my ability to produce compost - good soil too expensive to buy, so I make it).

Loaf of wheat bread may soon cost $23 due to skyrocketing food price inflation.....and an angel was crying "A measure of wheat for a penny! A measure of wheat for a penny!" (Revelation)
(A measure of wheat is an entire days wages, and it makes one loaf of bread.)

There’s a reason DC is “gun free” and much of Congress has access to private, underground tunnels and their own private security.

Article is absolute garbage and scare mongering.

Go ahead and keep your head in the sand. This is what happened under Carter. The debt we have now is already much higher than then. There is no other conclusion. IF you don’t prepare and you think the government can protect you then YOU depend on it. I intend to have some goodies squirreled away.
The writing is already on the wall, this is going to happen it is too late to stop it. You better get ready for it.
I personally believe the Great One is doing this on purpose so that he will have us all beg him to take over and feed us.

The liberal elite won’t care. They will just give themselves raises. The normal person will be reduced to poverty - and the liberals will finally be happy because they will have achieved income equality - everyone equally poor except themselves.

If you dont own land in any form it is time to learn how to grow a garden in pots. It'll work for a while, but eventually everything will be stolen. It's easier for people to steal food than to grow their own (sort of like food stamps). In addition to a temporary garden, learn to find edible wild plants and how to trap. Because others won't know what's edible, you'll have all the wild food in the area for yourself and your family.

"...keep the...deer and smaller critters out....But I can't get away with shooting them.
Let them nibble now - when the collapse comes you'll be free to fire away - nobody will care and you won't have to drag the deer as far......
I live in a residential area, have a 1/2 acre though - yesterday a buck was slowly making is way behind the shed (about 175 feet) - could have stood on my patio and dropped him with my .30-30 easy as pie.
After the collapse, my little antlered friend......

“Yup. Zimbabwe is the model.”
Obozo will send his home boys out to take over the farms, that’s the Zimbabwe model.

I have my own garden and I raise nine chickens. I’m a lot better prepared than most others in my area.

From the article
"One pound of wheat berries equals approximately 4 1/2 cups flour". Grinding your own flour from Hard Red Winter Wheatberries can be done with a "ball mill" you can easily make yourself from a very
large tin can or from food grade plastic barrels. Use large, clean nuts and bolts for the grinding balls if you need to.
You can bake anything from cookies to pancakes to bread to pies and cakes if you want to.
To make bread, all you need is 4 cups or so of wheat flour for two loaves of bread. Thoroughly mix the flour, 1/4 ounce (one teaspoon) of bread yeast, two table spoons of sugar, a 1/4 ounce of salt and 14 ounces of cold water in a big mixing bowl. Let the dough rest and rise in a tea-towel covered mixing bowl for 45 minutes at room temperature. Punch down the airy dough. Then knead (fold over and press down) the dough in the bowl for three or four minutes and pour 1/4 teaspoon of olive oil over the dough and remove half of the dough to a bread baking tin and the other half to a second bread baking tin. Cover with the tea-towel and let it sit quietly for about 1 hour. Then bake at 375 F degrees in the oven for about 18 minutes. Make sure to check the oven baking progress after 12 or 13 minutes. Thoroughly cooked bread will not stick to a wood toothpick pressed through the baked crust.
Remove baked bread from the baking tins to a wire rack to cool for 15 minutes. Enjoy your home-made bread you made completely by yourself. It cost about 35 cents per loaf when you made it. imo, it tastes far superior to store bought bread. I mix a bit of rye flour for light rye bread.
