Damn, I’m jealous. Doing this has been one of those “bucket list” items of mine ever since I was a kid.
Is he overcompensating for something?
Just so ya know, it is REALLY easy to drive a true race car at 150 mph.
Been there.
Done that.
Thus the screen name “Blueflag”
What’s hard is driving a race car at 99 - 101% of the limits of adhesion, driving a nearly perfect line through a series of turns in traffic; braking/accelerating at the right moment, planning ahead in the chess game of setting up passes. Intelligence, smoothness, concentration, planning and a focus on exit speed make good racers.
While one can be jealous of the opportunity to drive an F1 car at 150 mph, one should not be impressed. 150 mph is cruising. You barely feel it.
Ol' Vlad...still trying to prove his manhood...to himself?
“Russia’s Putin drives Formula 1 car at 150 miles per hour”
Couldn’t get it out of 2nd gear?
:0)
It is good to be Tsar...!
Stay thirsty my Comrades.
Even if it's not all that impressive. Almost everyone who's ever been on the autobahn in Germany has driven that speed or close to it.
“The most interesting man in the world.”
Lets get em to build a nascar track. That will ruin them for sure.
Am I a bad person for liking Putin more than Obama?
Go into any high school locker room in America and you’ll find boys who have driven pretty close to that speed, and not on a nice banked oval track.
I am the original owner of a '69 Charger 500 Hemi, so I'm familiar with 150+, and yer right, it's no big deal.....in a straight line.
BUT....the article does not mention where these speeds were obtained.
Were they top end speeds at end of very long straight? If so, why bother? Granny could do it.
Or were they on shorter straights on a road course? Lots harder, even for granny.
OR were they average lap speeds on a road course? NOW you are getting into F1 territory, and this ain't for the faint hearted.
I suspect it was the last. Regardless of what you think of Putin, he IS a macho SOB, so I can't imagine he would be double-clutching his way around in third gear in a real F1 car.
That's not to say he has any real racing talent, just big cajones and a whole country's wallet.
It takes both.
wuss...i do better than that off track
Putin is not a leader but a great traitor to his own people. He has stolen their freedom, destroyed their Republic, and turned them into a genocidal nation of mass murdering savages which must be destroyed.
Russia will be smashed apart like the Soviet Union was. Nuclear missiles didn't save the Soviet Union, and they won't save "Russia" either. You don't even deserve the name "Russia" anymore which you stole from the Ukrainians and will be returned to them.
