At their new political high-water mark, Republicans have plenty of reasons to celebrate - and at least one large cause for worry.
On Election Day, voters shattered the Obama agenda of expanded public benefits and increased income tax progressivity, leaving the president to reassemble his goals with glue and tape. During this midterm cycle, Republicans became reacquainted with estranged friends: independents, seniors, college-educated voters, working-class voters, rural voters and suburban voters. The Republican Party will benefit from the infusion of diverse, attractive new leaders, including some, such as Florida Sen.-elect Marco Rubio, with Tea Party pedigrees.

The scary thing about her is that she thinks she is qualified to be President. How is she not qualified?

The scary thing about her is that she thinks she is qualified to be President. If McCain had not cynically picked her to save his bid for Presidency, we would not be talking about her. First of all, this is a moronic statement. Barack Obama is the President Of the United States. This means that everyone on earth is qualified to be President Of The United States.
Secondly, people at FR were talking about Palin as potential Presidential material long before McCain chose her as his running mate.
When you're wrong, you're totally wrong. Wanna make it 3 for 3?

SO you dismiss Nixon for Watergate? I dismiss him for being a liberal idiot, who saddled us with the EPA and tried to shove the ERA down our throats. Harding, was a rock ribbed conservative.

And even if their two positions were identical, then why dismiss Pence and praise Palin?
Because I can actually see Palin as a conservative, because of her stated positions. You irrationally do not. Because you have interpreted her statements as being in favor of Amnesty, which she has stated many times she is not.
Furthermore, do a google search on Mike Pence and AZ1070 and see how many articles come up.
Do the same search with Sarah and see what comes up.
Sarah was all over this issue, Mike, hardly a peep.

Michael John Gerson is also for gays serving openly in the military.
Case closed on the RINO troll.

Pence was the architect of the mandatory touchback program. Weak tea, I know.
You're right, rather meaningless in the big picture when comparing their two positions on this issue.
To: eyedigress
Palin didn’t “vote” on TARP either, but she was even more a cheerleader for it than her mentor, Juan McCain, who did.

Show me where I “dismissed” President Nixon for his role in the Watergate scandal. President Harding was conservative, but that doesn’t excuse his cronyism and the Teapot Dome incident, or do you think it does?

Sarah detractors are firing blanks.
The entire lamestream has taken their best and most vile shots at her for over two years and counting, and they’re out of ammo.
Now it’s the RINO’S turn and they’re weak sisters...LOL.
Same goes for the anti-Palin posters here.

Yes she was, initially, however, she walked back her support later.

Yup!
It's last gasp of the PDS sufferers.
To: Darkwolf377
There are indeed anti-Palin folks in the party who dont want her to succeed, but not nearly so many as the press wants us to believe.Yes on both counts.
To: pissant
I won’t let that go. McCain left the campaign and you tie that to Palin.....You are a lost child.

Perhaps. Nonetheless, he’s bitten his tongue since, or rather, was chastised sufficiently to shut up. But you brought it up, not me.
Nonetheless, my only point in mentioning his name is that he ain’t a lightweight

Were you with him when he wrote that? Then how do you know he wrote it all by himself other than the mythology that started as he lay on that rooming house bed, dying? If they can make up tons of stuff about Obama, JFK, FDR and others, why do we doubt that they were doing the same in the 19th Century?
There were five transcripts of this speech, all written by Lincoln himself. The one we see now is the one he signed for a friend several months after the speech. So unless someone recited it to him, it was his.
In 1952, at the end of Truman's presidency, he walked out of the White House without Secret Service, and took the train back home. Think 80 years before that, they did not have staff or speechwriters. Politicians had to write their own speeches. They would have been considered frauds if they did not.
To: pissant
On the other hand YOU are saying TARP was bad.....hmmmmm Anything else you want to throw in the bad bucket.......
