Sarah Palin outlines a legislative plan for Republicans

Reporting from Washington — Sarah Palin is urging Republicans to see their 2010 victories as the start of a longer effort to "revive and restore" America, a goal that she says is possible only if President Obama is ousted in 2012.

In an online commentary, Palin outlines how she would like to see the new Republican forces in Congress follow through when they take control, and what it would mean for the next election.

"The 2012 story should be about conservatives in Congress cutting government down to size and rolling back the spending, and the Left doing everything in its power to prevent these necessary reforms from happening," she writes for the National Review. "In the next two years, if all we end up doing is adopting some tax hikes here, some Obama-agenda compromises there, and a thousand little measures that do nothing to get us out of the economic mess we're in, the same voters that put the GOP in office will vote them out in the next election."

Palin also offered a defense against critics who say she backed candidates in some primary races who proved to be unelectable in the general election, Christine O'Donnell of Delaware foremost among them.

"We saw in the last decade what happens when conservatives hold their noses and elect liberals who have an 'R' after their names," she said. "Certainly we can and should back sensible center-right candidates in bluer states, but I see no point in backing someone who supports cap-and-tax, Obamacare, bailouts, taxes, and more useless stimulus packages."

I think Sarah Palin would lose to Barack Obama, period.

No, man, you're falling for the Left's propaganda. That's just what they want you to believe...

People complaining about the experience issue really need to clean their glasses—their vision is blurred. Sarah Palin has controlled the political narrative from FACEBOOK for quite some time. Her election picks were by far bolder and more successful than any one else—every single person Obama campaigned for lost! Really? What are you looking for?

Having said that—I am still on the fence about her. For me, it is not whether she has the right knowledge—she clearly has a sixth political sense—I am concerned about WISDOM. I’m looking for a maturity factor and I’m still not sure it is there. I’m looking for TOUGHNESS—in the eye area. It’s not there right now. Resolve is not showing in her eyes right now. Love and care are there, and that is a wonderful thing, but it is not enough for the office of President.

She is a great lady, though, and I really, truly appreciate all that she has done. She has been an American Hero already, even if she does not become President.

And on a silly note—wouldn’t it be a hoot if she was press secretary??? Delicious irony!

Exactly how much "toughness" do you want? The woman has stood up to and let bounce off more criticism than any other political person since Ronald Reagan. She has fought the "good old boys" entrenched network and whipped their asses. Sounds to me like she has PLENTY of toughness, both political AND moral.

She's in a class by herself... Is there any doubt that she's running?

President No. 45 speaks.

And Obama has to leave the country to get her out of her rent-free space inside his head.

Look at her record before you start parroting the lies of the media. SHE HAS EXPERIENCE; both political and private sector!

2-term City Council
2-term Mayor
Gas Commissioner
Governor (2 years or so)

She has more political experience than Mitt Romney, for crying out loud.

And she and her husband have run their own small business for at least 2 decades. She’s a small-business person through and through.

Worth mentioning... again and again.

The other argument is "She can't win because people think she's dumb." Riiiiiiight. So we should let the media choose our candidates for us? They will chew up any non-RINO, as they did with Reagan. And there were plenty of Republicans who didn't think he was viable.

Once people see Sarah, without the media filter, they'll love her, just like they loved Reagan.

If unemployment hits 15 percent or so by the time the 2012 election comes around, the GOP could run a head of lettuce for president and still beat Obama.

Sarah’s debt to Juan has been paid in full. It’s totally up to him whether or not she backs him again. And I have a sneaking suspicion; he damn well knows it.

If your premis is valid, then this past election should have gone Zero’s way. The press was surely carrying vast amount so water for him, and Nancy, and Harry. And despite the fact that Nancy and Harry both made it out alive (Harry - barely), a vast majority of their acolytes in Congress fell.

And fell hard.

The MSM is being marginalized. They know, the Dems know it, and you need to see it. The TEA party didn’t rise up on the backs of the MSM, but in spite of it.

The game has changed!

And the old timers are scared shitless!

As for Sarah taking on Barry directly? Consider: they were comparing her to him in 08 when she was the VP candidate!

Think about that.

If they were both on the same stage, Barry with TOTUS and Sarah with a few words scribbled on the palm of her hand, who do you think would win the day?

I’ll place my bet on the Momma Grizzly.

She speaks from the heart. Barry doesn’t even know what that means, nor do the people scripting TOTUS.

I wonder if the liberals who filed all those false ethics allegations against Sarah Palin when she was governor are now kicking themselves in the butt?

Seemingly two sides in all of the plans being laid out for the new Congress: (1) The Sarah faction; (2) the Newt faction.

Which side shall we trust . . . .(?) HHhhmmmm I wonder. /sarc

I'll help you finish the entire quote.

Certainly we can and should back sensible center-right candidates in bluer states, but I see no point in backing someone who supports cap-and-tax, Obamacare, bailouts, taxes, and more useless stimulus packages.

Kind of has a different meaning now, especially followed by this:

If you think such a candidate will be with us when it comes time to vote down an Obama Supreme Court nominee, you’re living on a unicorn ranch in fantasy land.

I would not dare deny the toughness you refer to—and I am especially impressed with her moral fortitude. When I think of toughness as it relates to the President, I am thinking about maneuvering armies and managing vast economic issues and effectively communicating with dictators and allies —steel spine toughness—the times that are coming are going to be very hard. I want to believe she could do it, I am just not convinced YET.

You don’t accomplish what she did to the Alaska “good old boys” network without exactly that kind of spine. The ONE thing that I fault Palin for (and I can’t fault her for it, really) is that when she joined the McCain campaign, she was naive about the news media, which is why she go “waylaid” in the interviews (and they had to record, as I recall, four hours worth of interviews to collect the things they used against her).
