Kitzhaber wins, legislators tie, Oregonians wonder (here we go again...)

Speaking of ungovernable: Kitzhaber, apparently a narrow victor, must operate with a Legislature evenly balanced between Democrats and Republicans

This is likely to turn out to be a fine political mess. At last, Oregon apparently has a new governor, John Kitzhaber, and possibly a perfectly divided Legislature, with 15 members of each party in the Senate and 30 of each in the House.

Oregon: 2nd highest unemployment in the nation, $3 bil in the hole...25 years of Democrat control...and another Democrat (one of the ones who got us in this mess in the first place) gets elected.

Way to go Oregon. Kitzhaber governed this State before - and screwed it up royally. His reward: re-election.

I’m reminded of this scripture: “As a dog returns to its vomit, so fools repeat their folly.” - Proverbs 26:11

At least Nancy Pelosi has joined the ranks of the unemployed...that makes me feel slightly redeemed this morning.

If true Oregonians are smart, they will look at what has happened over the years to California. Oregon use to be conservative. That is until Californians moved in and started taking over the state.

It always amazed me that people moved to Oregon to get away from the corruption where they lived. Then they changed the state to what they left.

Wake up Oregon. You’re a great State, keep it that way.

The same holds true for immigrants. Look at CA.

I say we annex this state. Everything south of Eugene and north of Redding becomes the State of Jefferson. Let the liberals destroy their states and leave us alone to work hard raise our kids.

People fear change, even when it is change for the better. Many would rather complain about the lack of “x” rather than work to get “x”.

Are you responding to my post? I am trying to understand your comments? How does this apply to immigration?

It is hard to overcome the votes that always miraculously appear from Multnomah County (clearly one of the most liberal counties in the nation) the day after the election. They always seem to have found just enough votes they haven't yet counted, after they know the final numbers from everywhere else in the state and low and behold it is always just enough to put the democrat candidate in office by a few thousand votes. It happens every time!

I remember the bumper sticker many years ago, when so many Californians were moving to Oregon. It read something like, Don’t Californicate Oregon!. Times have changed.
