Republicans are on their way to controlling nearly 300 seats in New Hampshire's House of Representatives, according to preliminary vote counts.
The latest tally shows 296 seats firmly in Republican hands, with three seats yet to be decided. GOP sources say two of those will likely go their way and leave Democrats with 102 seats.
In the Senate, the final split is 19-5, according to figures at the Secretary of State's office. That represents a pickup of nine seats for the Republicans, who were the minority in a 14-10 Senate for the past four years.

Secretary of State William Gardner said the last time Democrats won only five Senate seats was in 1962.
When the state Legislature recessed for the summer in June, Democrats held 224 seats in the House, and Republicans controlled 176.

that number caught me as well......and of course I am sure they all get PAID...important government business dont you know...
And they only get 200 bucks a year. True citizen legislators.
I am stunned by it, but also impressed. I would imagine that citizens have good access/response to/from these locals? In most states (like mine) - both houses of the state legislature are inhabited by a select few who act like mini-mes of the DC crowd.

John Sununu was say it was 20-4 in the senate. Either way, my senator Maggie Hasan is gone - with a long before it.
Happy that my first vote as a NH resident had something to do with it.
Actually, state reps are unpaid. It’s a part-time job for them.
What the heck? Does everyone in the state work for the government?
Correction: They are paid $100 annually.
