Dick Morris Says Reports of Republican Turnout are "Unbelievable"

Morris Says Reports of Republican Turnout are "Unbelievable" and Democrat Turnout "Underwhelming"

Enthusiasm Gap Strikes in VA-8; Could Brookline Be About To Elect Sean Bielat?

Update: Dick Morris says we're heading for an "unbelievable landslide," based on reports from the ground all over the country.

For a week I've gotten some downer emails from a VA-8 voter calling Patrick Murray's bid to unseat Jim Moran. Can't happen. Impossible. The district is too bright blue, filled, as it is, with people who work directly for the federal government and/or the permanent bureaucratic political para-government of fundraisers, consultants, and issue-advocacy types.

Today he voted... and reports that Democrats aren't showing up.

I've been voting here in Arlington for 15 years, alternating between morning and afternoon based on my gut feelings about turnout.

I voted at 8 am this morning in South Arlington, bluest part of a blue county... I've *never* seen a polling place emptier.

I still don't see Murray having a serious chance-- this is Arlington, FFS-- but he *may* have a chance in Hell, depending on turnout...

Fingers crossed!

And in "bluer than blue" Brookline, MA...

For 25 years I’ve lived in Brookline, where Republicans admit they’re Republicans at their own risk. Yet I haven’t seen so many lawn signs for a Republican since a few courageous matrons put a “Weld for Governor” placard on their lawn in 1990 and paid the price: social suicide. They were promptly shunned at Whole Foods. Their poor children sat alone in the cafeteria.

It says something huge about Barney Frank’s fall from grace that a few brave Brookline-ites are ready, again, to risk their neighbors’ wrath.

Here’s what I’m seeing: a few dozen small and discreet Bielat signs, mostly in South Brookline on the West Roxbury line, where there’s more diversity. That is, you can actually question Al Gore’s prediction that the Cape will be underwater by 2025 and not be jettisoned from The Great Books Club.

Don't worry if that doesn't seem big enough -- MA-4 includes more than Brookline, and in Newton, for example, there are more Bielat signs than Frank signs.

Simple proposition: We turn out, they don't -- it doesn't matter what the partisan advantage is in any district. If they don't bother to vote, and we vote like the Republican depends on it, we win.

White guilt liberals in Manhattan, NY are staying home. Precincts are deserted. Not sure about the ‘Hood, though.

Medium turnout at my precinct in Tarrant County, Tx. Slightly more Obama voters midday. I think the Conservatives are working so I’ll find out later this afternoon.

That sounds great to hear the turnout.

Tell all of your Democrat friends that they also need to turn out and vote in these same numbers when they go to the polls tomorrow.

In fact, there is nothing wrong with offering to drive your Democrat neighbors to the polls tomorrow.

We are all Americans after all.

No polling news from me, but I am happy to report that all the 0bama cheerleaders in my very liberal office are awfully quiet today. No election buzz at all. In 2008, the happy, bouncy-stepped “changers” were ear to ear smiles, winks, and nods. Shh...what’s that I hear today? The sound of TEA brewing, methinks...yum.

Last week Toronto voted in a conservative mayor. If they can do it we can do it. For years the USA has been more conservative than Canada. Only reason Obongo is in is the Iraq war and the press denigrating and sliming George Bush for years

I just voted. I was the only person in there under 70 years old. And one of only two males.

My family has posted 4 straight ticket Republican votes...

I voted this morning at 7:30 am... in a VERY Red area of Louisville...

I’ve lived here 10 years.. this was the FIRST time I’ve actually had to WAIT in line to vote... about 15 minutes before I could get to a machine. I heard on the news that they RAN OUT of paper ballots!

The Paul/Conway race has been very competitive. Bubba Clinton was here yesterday and drew a pretty big crows.

Local news folks are predicting a turnout of >50%. Seems that way at my polling place at least.

My county is RED RED RED

I'm in a a RED county also, but have never had to stand in line for early voting before. I voted last week and thought I had plenty of time on my lunch hour, wound up 30 minutes late. From talking to others in line, they were as surprised as I was. It was great.

Lots of Bielot signs in southeastern MA, Plymouth,Freetown, etc. Many had to be replaced more than once.

Mrs. L works at an establishment that doubles as a Polling Place. She says that the line has been out the door since she got there.

A couple of Dems have wandered through. She can tell by the reek of Patchouli.

And one thing that isn’t really being talked about much as far as voter turnout is how many registered democrats are voting republican or independent? Of all my democrat friends around the country, about half of them have seen the light and are slamming the brakes on Obama’s policies. It was Obamacare that finally woke them up.

Figgers.

Go west 10 miles and it’ll be RED RED RED.

Go north across the river and it’ll be RED RED RED.

Goes 10 miles east and it’ll be “WHERE IS MY WALKIN’ AROUND MONEY?”

I hope Morris is right, but he should save such exclamations until about 6:00 pm eastern.
