With 435 House races, 37 Senate races, and 37 Governor races across 50 states today, it could be tough to follow them all. So weve decided to divide up some of the races by theme. You might care mostly about abortion, or government reform. Well be looking for trends in the suburbs and among Tea Party insurgents.
So, lets start with one issue that was largely under the radar Abortion.
California SenateBoxer, the champion of legal abortion: Boxer is a favorite of the pro-choice movement. She led the fight to keep partial-birth abortion legal. The fact that shes in danger this year in California has pro-lifers giddy.
Washington SenateMurray, the champion of government-funded abortions: Murrays is second only to Boxer in defending abortion. Her Murray Amendment is an attempt to begin performing abortions on military bases. Much more than Boxer, Murray is vulnerable this year.
Michael Bennet vs. Ken Buck in Colorado Senate race: Democrats have decided the way to beat conservative Republican Ken Buck in Colorado is to attack him as an extremist on abortion he opposes it in all cases, even when the child was conceived through rape or incest. If he goes down in a tight race, abortion could be part of it.
Keith Fimian, pro-life Catholic in a socially moderate wealthy district: Rep. Gerry Connolly attacks Fimian for his no-exceptions pro-life stance. Fimian stands firm.
Rep. Phil Hare, D-Ill.: Hare is an unapologetic pro-choice liberal in a strong Democratic district, but he could lose to pro-life businessman Bobby Schilling.
Obamacare votes by pro-life Dems or those who claim to be: Kathy Dahlkemper (Pa.), Steve Driehaus (Ohio), and Joe Donnelly (Ind.) are pro-life Democrats voted in the end for ObamaCare, even though it contained abortion subsidies. This earned the ire of some pro-life groups, like the Susan B. Anthony List, which has spent money to try to defeat them. Sen. Harry Reid basically fits into this category, since he describes himself as pro-life.

Thanks!
Wouldn’t I just love to see Carolyn McCarthy defeated in NY. She was a republican. Turned dem because they were against the death penalty as was she.......such a good catholic. (her words)
Then she promptly voted against the ban on partial birth abortion. I guess her ‘good catholic’ genes flew out the window when she got to D.C.
Her husband was killed by the Long Island RR shooter and her son was grievously wounded but survived.
She turned into quite the political whore.

The most important pro-life vote today will be for Amendment 62 in Colorado.
The Pandora’s Box was opened in CO, and it is quite appropriate that this is where we begin to close it.
Personhood!
Mark Kirk Illinois “republican” running for the U.S. Senate is as pro abort as he is anti Second Amendment, also as a member of the House he voted for Cap and Tax.
Mike Dabno, Libetarian also on the ticket is pro life and pro Second Amendment and will get my vote.

To piggy back, here's another "list" to watch. These are the members of the Progressive Caucus. This is the TOTAL membership list and EVERY ONE of them is up for election, (except one who was fired in the primary). I'll be keeping watch on this list at The Patriot's Flag tonight. To me this is the real measurement as to whether or not this is a "conservative uprising."
I'm hoping this list will be discriminated! But we'll see.

I heard that it was the shooting incident on the LIRR that really changed her. The incumbent Republican, Dan Frisa, was staunchly pro-gun. She became staunchly anti-gun after the shootings and ran and won on that issue in 1996.
If only someone with a gun had stopped the killer. The ba$tard actually had time to reload his gun and continue on shooting.
Be nice if someone had shot him dead after he pulled his gun.
US 9th TN Steve Cohen pro abortion. Opponent Charlotte Bergmann pro LIFE.
Mike Doyle, democrat congressman from Pittsburgh, created the Stupak amendment. The MSM has largely ignored this and instead targeted Stupak himself. We have a lovely conservative tea party lady running against him named Melissa Haluszczak. I’m working the polls for her right now. She’s a long shot but I’m praying for her to send that evil Doyle packing!!!!!
I’m not in the district of any of those on this list, thank goodness. Richard Neal is bad enough.
I am very anti abortion however 62 in CO is poorly written and I don’t see it passing. It defines “personhood” at conception and would cause more harm than good.... if it defined person-hood at a heartbeat it would have a far better chance at surviving and becoming the law here.
I honestly see it as a sand-bagging attempt knowing that it wouldn’t pass so that anything that came up in the future wold have a less-likely chance at passage.
This is a great thread - you should create one for gay marriage too

Nonsense.
Human life begins at its creation, its biological inception. It’s just a simple fact.
And our Constitution says that no person may be deprived of life without a fair trial.
