Go ahead, say it. It's no longer mere fantasy or sheer folly to do so. A rare mix of veteran rejects and budding stars completed an unlikely ascent to the Major League summit Monday night, allowing all to repeat a five-word phrase never before heard:
World Series champion San Francisco Giants. The Giants made franchise history with a 3-1 triumph over the Rangers in Game 5 of the World Series, ignoring their underdog status to capture the 106th Fall Classic, four games to one.
An unlikely hero combined with a likely one to elevate San Francisco to new heights.

good. it’s not exactly a hotbed of conservative voters
But ya’ll spread Pelosi. Unforgivable!
I hope they stick that trophy in a earthquake proof case. 10.0,10.0,10.0,...10.0!
Lighten up, Francis. I watched the World Series, and I’m going to vote, too. Enjoying sports, and being aware of what’s going on in the world are not mutually exclusive.
My comments are typically worth posting twice.
Yeah, we know. It's called "enjoying the moment." Try it some time.
How about this stat...
There are only 4 players in MLB history with WS-winning hits in TWO different World Series:
1) Lou Gehrig
2) Joe Dimaggio
3) Yogi Berra
4) Edgar Renteria
Congrats to the Rangers on their first World Series. They have a lot of talent, though it’s too bad that Lee is going to run off to New York next season. Seriously, that really sucks (like the Yankees!).
Woo! Hoo! Who won? I missed the game tonight.
After the 0-2 start, I had hoped for a 2-4 showing, but it was not a sweep. And now, a team with almost no one having any WS experience in the players and office now has it.
And our new owner knows a bit about developing the Rangers past Achilles Heel: pitching.
Sorry to hear that. I still hate them and the Dodgers for leaving New York.
Bingo... Magnificent bastards in Texas! California is in play.
Check my in forum... I did call this early in the game.
Got me. Where are Sodom and Gomorrah located nowadays? :-)
Yay! Than Franthisco!!! Go Gianths!!!
That’s right...Yankees suck! (...and so does the ball team...)
Agreed. Most unpromoted and uninteresting World Series in a long time.
Great news. Everyone in San Francisco will be hung over in the morning and won’t feel like voting.
Let’s all meet at the McDonalds to celebrate!
