I like the plate. Normally, I would not to have anything to do with the VA DMV even if I lived in VA but I would love those plates !
(Prohibited in St. Louis County, MO)
As awesome as the “Don’t Tread On Me” is as a historic symbol with present day relevance, Virginia already has an even more awesome state flag and seal - “Sic Semper Tyrannus” which is today an even more relevant symbol of what befalls those who attempt to exercise dominion over us.
If you only want to say “leave me alone or you’ll regret it” to your government, by all means go with “Don’t Tread on Me”
If you want to say, “Mess with me and you’re dead”, I’d stick with the Seal of the Old Dominion.
“Tyrannis, not Tyrannus”
Damn. Maybe I should move to Virginia.
I want one!!!
Well, pay the government a fee, and you can have one!
In a world gone mad...
How about “kill a commie for mommy”?
Love it, but five’ll get you ten that it’ll never pass the legislative process.
Need these in Florida...NOW.
what the hell is that?
I’d renew my plates immediately to get one!
Re your #23: “...Tyrannis, not Tyrannus”
Ahah!!;
NOW we know what made the dinosaurs - including that big ol’ “T-Rex” extinct!
They went and messed with Virginnie!!!
State of Florida Application Requirements for “Don’t Tread on Me” license tags. Excepted from the Florida Dept of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicle web page:
“...the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles may not issue any new specialty license plates pursuant to ss. 320.08056 and 320.08058, Florida Statutes, between July 1, 2008 and July 1, 2011.
The basic requirements are: The organization must hire an independent survey company to conduct a survey on Florida registered motor vehicle owners, an application fee of $60,000, a long-term and short-term marketing plan, financial analysis and the design of the license plate. The requirements must be submitted to the Department 90-days before the first day of the legislative session.”
THOSE ARE FREAKIN SWEET
Ironic for a liberal state that voted for Obama to have this plate...
They're fairly common in Indiana, and apparently Florida has one as well.
