Because laying in a ditch with someone who you know does the most despicable things is disgusting. If you do have to lay down you life for someone it helps that you have a little respect for that person as a normal human being and worth the sacrifice. Their blood may be red but there is a high probability it might be HIV +. An annual physical isn't going to cut it. They'll have to test blood weekly.
Nothing, unless you're more concerned that everyone know you are a "gay" serviceman/woman rather than just a serviceman. I think it shows where your real commitment lies.

Homosexuals are mentally ill, harbor and spread incredible diseases, notoriously promiscous, and a terrible security risk. The are obsessed with unnatural sexual gratification, prone to drug and alcohol abuse, and commit more "domestic" violence and child molestation than the general public.
