Baron Hill has represented the 9th District of Indiana in the U.S. House of Representatives for 10 of the last 12 years. During that time, Hill has been a part of the Blue Dog Coalition, a group of Democrats who consider themselves to be moderate-to-conservatives on many issues, especially fiscal ones. While Hill may have had Blue Dog credentials in the past, over the last couple of years he has revealed his true colors. Along with the liberal wing of the Democratic Party, Hill has voted for the failed stimulus package, the healthcare reform act and the cap-and-trade energy bill.
The stimulus package came with a price tag of nearly $900 billion, so a vote for it would be a far cry from being deemed as fiscally conservative. The price tag for the health care reform plan is somewhere in the $1 trillion range, depending on which set of data is used to apply a cost for it. Plus, it adds additional costs to every American to pay for their own or for someone else's healthcare needs. Again, that is certainly not a fiscally conservative position to take. And the cap-and-trade bill was clearly designed in a way that would lead to increased energy costs for both businesses and individuals.
Hill's vote on the cap-and-trade bill is particularly alarming given that back in 2006, when he was trying to win back the congressional seat that he had lost two years earlier, Hill was essentially a one-trick pony railing against high gas prices.

The Blue Dogs are liberals with red paint... scratch that away and you get... a liberal. Bye-bye Blue Dogs - Emanuel Rahm’s greatest political accomplishment flushed straight down the toilet!
Any recent polling?
Hill is most likely dead meat in Indiana. He has voted with Obama, Pelosi on every issue.
The vote for Cap & Trade is a dealbreaker. Indiana ia a coal state.
His opponent is a young republican and a veteran of the military.
OTOH the Ds usually win in Bloomington and along the Ohio. Young is a lawyer in Bloomington and apparently has a good grassroot group there because he didn't even campaign in our area during the primary and won easily.
As far as the River Rats...Am traveling there today and will note the signs we see.
ROTFL. You tell them girl. Baron Hill is a shameful lying cretin.
If the voters don’t dump him they will deserve what they get.
“The Hill” reports Hill up 46-44 this morning.
That against the law in Indiana? It is in many states.
Unfortunately the Red Barren is supported by leagues of brain dead Indiana ‘Im voting dem like my Daddy done” farmers. They are also apparenly ready to lap up any class warfare rhetoric the media spews against Young as I overheard a couple of them at the post office talking about “how big Todd Youngs house is.
Nothing but crickets when I asked what’s the sq. footage of Barons residence.
Hopefully we will overcome the ignorance of these old coots this time.
