Well armed and trained assassins are loose in the United States. Can you guess who they are? If you are thinking al-Quida, Hezbullah, or perhaps home grown terrorists – try again. Would you be that surprised to find out that they are drug smuggling Mexicans cartel members!
A few weeks ago I wrote an article detailing the growing threat of Mexican drug cartels. After showing the evidence of the gangs’ escalating aggressiveness and violence leaving a body count now totally to over 27,000 dead since 2006 I posed the question “do Mexican drug cartels pose a greater threat” to the United States than the Taliban? With this latest news about escalated cartel violence I pose the same question again.
The Washington Times is reporting that “well-armed assassins, or sicarios”, have infiltrated Arizona to protect trade routes. According to the report, drug cartels have had a problem with bandits ambushing their gang members headed for buyers in the U.S. and looting them of their cocaine, marijuana, and heroin. The drug cartels have responded by sending in snipers to sniff out the thieving bandits.
"Drug-smuggling gangs in Mexico have sent well-armed assassins, or “sicarios,” into Arizona to locate and kill bandits who are ambushing and stealing loads of cocaine, marijuana and heroin headed to buyers in the U.S., the Department of Homeland Security has warned Arizona law enforcement authorities."
"In a memo first sent in May but widely circulated since, the department said a group of “15, very well-equipped and armed” assassins complete with body armor had been sent into the state to identify, locate and kill the drug thieves, who are thought to be independent operators."
"The memo said the assassins had been dispatched to the Vekol Valley, a well-established and widely travelled drug-smuggling corridor running north and south across Interstate 8 between the Arizona towns of Casa Grande and Gila Bend. The valley is a direct link to both the interstate and to Phoenix, giving drug smugglers the option of shipping their goods to California or to major cities both north and east."
" Disguised as groups of backpackers but carrying empty boxes covered with burlap, the memo said the paid assassins would attempt to “draw out the bandits.” Once identified, it said, the assassins “will take out the bandits.”"
“We just received information from a proven, credible confidential source who reported that a meeting was held in Puerto Penasco, in which every smuggling organization who utilizes the Vekol Valley was told to attend,” the memo said. “This included rival groups within the Guzman cartel..."
The article goes on to cite a county sheriff who claims that drug cartels have posted scouts at high points to help control movement and that they possess equipment as sophisticated as anything American authorities have. The sheriff said pleas have been made for the Obama Administration to send more National Guard soldiers for support, but so far the county has only received road signs:
"Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu, whose county includes the valley, told The Washington Times earlier this month that Mexican drug cartels have posted scouts on the high points around the valley to control movement in the area. He said they have radios, optics and “night-vision goggles as good as anything law enforcement has.”
“This is going on here in Arizona … 30 miles from the fifth-largest city in the United States,” he said.
"The sheriff said he asked the Obama administration for 3,000 National Guard soldiers to patrol the border, but got 15 signs along Interstate 8 instead."
Mexican assassins roaming around in Arizona is just another symptom of the spillover caused by lawlessness the Mexican drug cartels are creating. The longer this problem continues to go unchecked with on the U.S. side of the border serious effort, the gangs will increase their bold measures leaving more Americans added to the climbing body count. Again, I pose the question I asked a few weeks ago:

Which of these enemies impose a more immediate threat to America?"

The #1 responsibility of the Federal Govt. is to protect the citizens of the U.S. My gosh, what is it going to take for the government to do something about this?
28,000 deaths since 2006! We have a major war going on south of our border and it is now spilling into America and Obama does nothing.

The man standing beside me asked, "This is what you saw: they act as friends, and say they respect the treaties made together. But everything I've shown you is how it will REALLY happen.
