The Talk Shows
Sunday, October 24th, 2010
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Pat Toomey, Republican nominee for Senate in Pennsylvania; Joe Manchin, Democratic nominee for Senate in West Virginia.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Rep. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md.; former Bush adviser Karl Rove.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine; retired Gen. Hugh Shelton, a former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
STATE OF THE UNION (CNN): Florida Senate debate with Republican nominee Marco Rubio, Democratic nominee Kendrick Meek and independent Charlie Crist.
COD has obvious “simpatica” with the voters - plain and simple. No one should be surprised when she wins.
Remember the cat calls about Scott Brown. His daughters are freaks! He was in a girlie magazine! As soon as he won, they STHU.
Terrible misogynist sentiment sweeping the land. Media first and foremost. No such thing as bigotry against women. Sexism is something these people carry with pride. Kill the b&tch, burn the w&tch. Just absolutely shameful. But that’s what we have for a media and opposition now days (including large elements of GOP establishment and officialdom)
I saw that Coons reference too but I could not find the poll. Did you spot it Fish?
You might be right. I stand by my opinion of matthews, though, because he just spouts stuff (including lies) without thinking.
At any rate, this can all be sorted out AFTER THE ELECTION. Eyes on the prize, and all that.
Chris Matthews said something interesting on his show which here comes on after MTP. He said the Republicans like Haley Barbour are calling up Steele and begging him to get Sarah Palin off their backs.
#####
Just one word, Fishtalk: VERIFY!
Why do you believe anything that crazy Chris Matthews says?
Right MM....we can deal with it AFTER the election.
We’ll see how this emboldened and re-energized GOP governs. Repeal of Obamacare will be a clue.
Maica.
First, you come on with your lectures and piousness, totally unwarranted.
I wrote volumes on the Matthews thing. Evidently you didn’t read it. And I never said I believed it.
Stuff it. I was just making political talk, passing gossip....NO WAIT....that’s what we do on this thread, reporting on stuff SAID on Sunday talk shows..
Silly me.

From now until November; I regard everything coming from the media as plain old bullsh*t. It is propaganda designed to suppress conservative vote...don’t believe ANYTHING they spew.
I still remember watching MSNBC as some reporter stood outside the Supreme Court building, reading the text of the Bush-Gore decision. At first she thought it was in Gore's favor, and then as she read more of the statement and realized that Bush won, her expression changed from happy-face to frowny-face. Sort of like Tim Russert doing an impartial interview with a Republican.
There is still enough time for voters in Delaware to realize that O'Donnell was right. And when they realize that, who to vote for becomes an easier decision.
As the day winds down let me take a moment here, replying to my own comment to avoid irritation, to apologize for perhaps being a bit short with folks. This would include me.
On the one hand I am upbeat and optimistic. On the other I’m just tired of lies, especially lies repeated by fools and boobs.
Had a relative....well actually a boyfriend of my niece, write two Facebook posts that irritated me as he’s an idiot with a grandchild he adores. So I don’t know why he wants to take away his precious grandchild’s America that HE had a lifetime to enjoy.
He says, in one post....I paraphrase...”They ought to get rid of the PACS, every one of them. Just shut them all up, get the big money out of it.”
Sheesh. Just like that this boob wants to shut down freedom of speech so I get annoyed and comment to his thread that he ought to read that thing called the constitution as businesses, yeah even unions, are collections of PEOPLE and they have a right to “gather” peaceably, even if via PAC.
The next post he writes....”The Tea Parties are run by BIG BUSINESSES...” and some other nonsense.
Again....well isn’t that just the dumbest damn thing to say?
He also made some comment about us not wanting an inexperienced Obama yet WE want to elect inexperienced candidates. He was referring to COD but this boob is from Merryland so it’s really none of his beeswax.
All week I keep getting notes in my Ebax that another comment was added to his thread but wisely, I deleted the reference cause hell, I have enough trouble arguing with you guys, WHO KNOW A THING OR TWO....than to waste my time and wonderful words on a complete idiot without a clue.
I guess I get down as THESE PEOPLE VOTE!
I do so want to take my niece aside and tell her what an asshole she’s hooked up with but...heh, she’s even dumber than him.
Thank y’all for indulging me this morn.
And the Ravens won, btw.
Thank you markman, glad it inspired you.
Pray for the Election
Lots of Marco signage and stickers. T've seen maybe 3-4 Crist signs, usually in a "common area" = a place where a cluster of signs are on a non-descript empty piece of property.
Scott-Sink is really wierd to call. Sink is running 99% negative ads up here. The two ads against Sink are the one with her praising Obama as the "right thing for Florida", and the other against the pension losses under her watch. Her campaign must have gotten some "pros" in here within the last few days, as she has now responded to the pension ad. A VERY slick produced and what had to be an expensively made ad, let alone the cost of the repeated airplay I've seen of it in just 48 hours.
She has NO rebuttal against the Obama ad!! IMHO, Scott just needs to hammer THAT ONE for the next 8 days.
Thank for your reply to my post and hope all is well.
Absolutely!! They will say or do anything to slow us down at this point. Just another rattrap.
No problem my pleasure. My guess is Scott its trying to buy the race,he may just do it. Two strange candidates at best.
Simple message...shut your mind to the BS, and VOTE! Bring your like-minded friends and relatives to the polls; keep an eye out for fraud. I caught a guy wearing a ‘Kerry 2004’ shirt inside the polling place years ago, and made him remove it. Challenge illegal crap when you see it...
I had to leave for a while. Turned on TV and caught the last of Toomey and D.A. (LOL!) Wallace, then saw your post - perfect timing! I agree, I think he did well; and, I’m with you re Sestak. Sheesh! He’s got to be one of the most liberal congress critters - - I can’t believe a majority of legal voters in PA would vote for him.
What’s the name of the show - - Tingle along with Chrissy?
I rarely watch the Sunday talk shows, but I did this week...and it reminded me why I don’t watch those shows!
The programs were nothing more than support group therapy sessions for the liberal establishment. They tell themselves that races are “tightening” (without much evidence to back up that claim) and that Bill Clinton and Barack Obama are firing up the Democratic base (HA!). On the other hand, it doesn’t matter if the GOP takes Congress because the Tea Party candiates and the Republican establishment will immediately be at each other throats, to the great benefit of Obama.
The MSM spends so much time covering the O’Donnell campaign because it tells a story that makes them feel good about themselves: That a Tea Party “extremist” is hurting the GOP. That is totally unpresentative of what is happening during this election cycle, but they desperately wish it were.
Why does a race in which a politicial neophyte in a deep blue state (Delaware) is running behind get so much attention? Why not cover the Wisconsin Sentate race in which a “respectible” Democratic incumbent in a pretty solidly Democrat state is about get booted out?
Inquiring minds need to know.
