Bad Chinese food makes me nervous.
He was fired from NPR, not Fox.
Will this illiberal action by NPR dissuade Mr. Williams from continuing to be a liberal, albeit an unusually reasonable one? I don’t think so. His indoctrination is too complete.
i agree with Juan Williams.Five years ago at DIA (Denver)
there were a number of women
in Hijab working for TSA.
I haven’t actually seen J-W on since I chucked the TV out 12 years ago.
He seemed like a smarmy butt-kissing weasel then, what’s he doing on Fox, anyway?
Nope. He’ll still have a spot on Fox News, for now. However, he just learned how bad political correctness can be. Muslims are now practically immune in such media outlets from any criticisms at all. Juan, welcome to the world that conservatives have lived under for quite some time now. Though you will never be a conservative, if you want to speak truth at all, especially about moose-limbs,you had better grow a much thicker skin.
“Anybody want to bet the White Hut is making another move against Fox? Eliminate the lefties and they will no longer be “fair and balanced.” ....
Counterproductive in this case, since it’s NPR who is eliminating the lefties, not Fox News. OTOH, perhaps it could be interpreted that Juan Williams in no longer a leftie, hence he belongs at Fox News; which is no longer fair & balanced. The nut cases on the left think that anyone with common sense is not fair and balanced.
This will not go well for NPR. The reason: probably 90 percent of Americans share the same sentiment and know he was just being honest. If someone tells you they don’t get a little nervous when they see a muslim on a plane, then they’re either telling a lie, or naive.
Liberal make me nervous.
I guarantee you that every sane American, liberal or not, feels the same way as Juan Williams. When I get on the plane with men in Muslim garb, I have to push down/repress/override the natural fear and the remembrance of 9/11 in order to stay on the plane.
The only people who don’t are those Vichy Americans who will spread their legs for their Muslim conquerors who will abuse them and ultimately kill them because everyone hates a traitor.
So NPR should show their courageous stand and run the Draw Mohammed Cartoons.
On my favorite hyper-liberal site, the response is unanimous. They ALL disagree with NPR. They are also quite aware that most news sources are focusing on the first sentence but ignoring the last.
This is not going to go well with them. It is a sort of Dan Rather moment for NPR.
Not long ago I heard Tavis Smiley say that Christian terrorists kill people in America every day. He had on a middle eastern female guest who was relaying her accounts of being victimized by Muslim terrorists. Tavis interrupted her, all in a huff, claiming Christians do that here every day. With all the school shootings, post offices, Oklahoma City. Every day.
But not if NPR is receiving federal tax dollars. Actually I don't think National Public Radio, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting or the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) should receive any tax dollars anyway.
Time has long since passed when we should have stopped federal funding of these biased media outlets.
FY 2011 Digital Conversion
CPB requests $59.5 million in digital funding for FY 2011, a 50 percent increase over our FY 2010 request.
FY 2011 Ready To Learn
CPB is requesting $32 million in FY 2011 for Ready To Learn (RTL), a Department of Education program...
FY 2013 Regular CPB Appropriation
The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) requests a $604 million advance appropriation for Fiscal Year (FY) 2013, a 14.7 percent increase over our request for FY 2012.
Typical AOL headline writing. What he said was, that when he gets on an airplane and he sees someone who presents themselves as muslim, he gets nervous.
