AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and he’s not retiring until every American agrees with him, do NOT doubt him, with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name (that’s Rush, for those in Rio Linda),the Mandarin of Talk Radio, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back — just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, all-concerned Maha-Rushie! America’s anchorman, truth detector, and doctor of democracy. A Real Man, a living legend, a way of life. Commander in Chief of U.S. Operation Chaos. Chief Waga-Waga El Rushbo of the El Conservo Tribe. Chief of the Patriotism Police. Leader of the Conservative Movement. A Weapon of Mass Instruction. El Rushbo (a little Spanish lingo, there). He is the man who is running America (you know it and I know it). He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do—that’s host. Get ready to what you were born to do—that’s listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).

Before we can take back the country we’ll have to take back the Republican Party.

FR is moving really slowly for me.

That's getting to be my near-daily experience here lately... unfortunately.

Thank you again for these daily Rush threads... when FR is slow, I know it takes much longer to get these threads up and running.

Before we can take back the country we’ll have to take back the Republican Party.

Completely agree with this statement, but I also think that everyone, especially the Republican Congressmen, need to come to the understanding that with no veto-proof majority in the Senate and without the Presidency, all the Republicans can do is gum up the works for the next two years.

I honestly think that this talk of "compromise" comes from a legitimate fear that, after November, the Republicans are going to be painted in a negative light at every turn, and if things are not much different in 2012, the public with their short attention spans will re-elect Obama and will turn away from the Republicans again.

Yes, the Republicans in the House can pass legislation and yes, if we get the Majority in the Senate, we can possibly pass this legislation in the Senate (must get by the infamous cloture rule). But then the legislation gets to Obama and he will veto ALL of it. And the media will not carry the water of the House Republicans, they will carry the water of Obama.

It will be of upmost importance that the Republicans become solidified on their message that they are attempting the reforms that the people elected them to legislate, but Obama is standing in the way at every turn. And they will have to be LOUD about it. Thoughts?

I understand that there will be limits to what the Republicans can do, but the establishment Republicans seem to act as though they don't want to get much done. They seem to be comfortable being an impotent, minority party.

The danger is that the old-boys want to use "we don't have a veto proof majority" as an excuse not to attempt anything. The conservatives coming in need to be tireless in their efforts.

I honestly think that this talk of "compromise" comes from a legitimate fear that, after November, the Republicans are going to be painted in a negative light at every turn, and if things are not much different in 2012, the public with their short attention spans will re-elect Obama and will turn away from the Republicans again.

The smears will come regardless. If the old-boys haven't figured that out by now.... well, what can you say? See above.

Let him veto it. The important thing is that the items are brought forward. Make use of the alternate media, as the TP has been doing, to blast the message. I'm still not convinced a strong principled message -- backed by threat of losing a seat -- won't sway RINOs and even some Dems to our side.

It will be of upmost importance that the Republicans become solidified on their message that they are attempting the reforms that the people elected them to legislate, but Obama is standing in the way at every turn. And they will have to be LOUD about it. Thoughts?

The old-boys do not want to be solidified with the TP. That's the problem we out here in the real world are facing. The incoming conservatives need to be a hell of a lot stronger than the last group, stick to their principles, and tirelessly pound home the conservative message.
