I know we Nevadans get our backs up when the national media condescends. We are a proud bunch; we love our state. But as I surveyed the post-mortems in the 140-character world, where concision often yields brutal truth, you could almost sense the head-shaking as the national types opined:
NBCs Chuck Todd: Reids problem tonight is that while Angle wasnt great, his performance made her look passable.
Politicos Dave Catanese: Utterly subpar.
Political Wires Taegan Goddard: Reid didnt knock out Angle but she had him on the ropes. Have to give the edge to Angle ...
Political writer Taylor Marsh may have summed it up best: Sharron Angle passed the Im not crazy test with flying colors. Focused too. This lady just might pull this off. Reid didnt take her out.

She must have left no doubt about kicking his a$$ for the lamestream dolts to publish that.....

His opening statements about his parents suffering after hsi Dad’s lay off and Mother had to take in laundry from the brothels to make money, was really desperate.
Who would be make up such a story of their Mother having to wash the disease filled linens of a whore house? (I don’t believe for one second that this story is true)
If this is the only exposure to the struggle paying the bills this twit has ever had, he needs to GO!

I didn't mean to make an analogy, just point at some history. The people who watch debates tend to be the most committed. The problem with debates is that undecided voters will only hear about obvious gaffes. A candidate with a good lead has absolutely no interest in going into a situation where one misstatement could spell defeat.

She did impress me and shattered the low expectations most people had of her.
That is the key. People don't like Reid. All she had to do was show that she was serious and competent. Sure is would have been nice to knock Reid off the podium. But she didn't have to. Sharon accomplished every goal she had set out for herself. Reid failed to accomplish any of his. That is a victory pure and simple.

Sharron Angle very much impressed me last night.
She is everything that Christine O’Donnell is not . . a serious, intelligent critic of liberalism.
Sean Hannity and Mark Levin cost us an easy seat in Delaware.
To: paudio
Sharron did okay and I’ll send her a 3rd small donation today so she can invest in some aggressive poll watchers starting tomorrow.
Harry came across as a bumbling old Marxist moron. At the end of the debate each candidate was given 60 seconds to make a closing statement. Reid went first and it took him an agonizing 15 seconds to find his notes. No joke!
I went to sleep last night amazed that the strongest nation in the world has invested it’s Senate majority to this clueless fool. It’s a miracle that we are not worse off than we are.

That fight needed to be fought, even though defeat was certain. It certainly would have been much better if ODonnell had been a serious candidate who took the campaign seriously. But she was never the issue in that race, the issue was getting rid of Castle. With luck the establishment will recognize that their candidates must at least be palatable to the conservatives in the party. And when not the Tea Party will have a better slate of alternative candidates ready to take them on in the primaries. With luck we will never need to fight that battle again.

I live on a fixed income.
Is his income ‘fixed’ like how the mob fixes fights? ... do they ‘fix’ income too for him?

That’s his income - that doesn’t include perks and “considerations” for legislative favors.

The catch phrase for the night was when she said:
Man up, Harry
I hope it is played on NV radio and TV until November 2nd.

Christine espouses conservative principals just fine. Castle - the mock Repub - lost. Castle's votes would not differ much from Coons' votes.
Hannity and Levin have only tried to save the Republic. Tokyo Rove is who "cost us an easy seat", IMO.

The strategy was to cast Angle as a wild-eyed crazy berserker. But you just can’t have two of those in the same election cycle. When the media shifted it’s attention to O’Donnell they let Angle escape to recast herself and shift the conversation back to Dingy Harry’s record.

Yep, heard that quote - “Man up” and admit that there is a pending problem with Social Security.
Dems keep shouting that there’s no problem with any entitlements, just like they covered up and dismissed any alarm bells about Fannie & Freddie.

It was going to be a close election in any event. Kennedy was more photogenic, which counts for a lot in the age of electronic media.

Christine espouses conservative principals just fine. Castle - the mock Repub - lost. Castle's votes would not differ much from Coons' votes. She espouses the general principles fine, but she doesn't give the impression that she deeply understands them to the point of being able to make them politically effective.
As for Castle -- if Coons ends up being Democrat Senator #50, then I guess Delaware ends up with 3 Senators, if you count Biden's tie-breaking vote.
Castle might end up looking pretty good, in that case....
As for Angle, I think she's going to end up being a one-term disappointment, but at least she'll count as an R, for purposes of computing which party has the majority.

I listened to the debate on C-Span while freeping and had a hard time with Angle’s voice.
However, I watched it this morning (parts of it) on Fox News and she was so much better when you could see her.
