I am not making excuse for them but their usual MO is to go for the money. I know they are savages and killing a human is nothing to them but I still don’t get it. Was it a drug deal gone bad?

I don't know that it's that difficult to understand. You have a couple of people (and obvious Anglos no less) on jet skis taking photos close to a drop site/transshipment area, occupied by ruthless criminals with guns.
I know the area, and I don't have a problem believing the wife's story. It's always been the wild West down there, but much, much worse lately.
