New Lame Duck Threat to Bailout Union Pensions
Human Events ^ | 08 October 2010 | Connie Hair

Democrats in the Senate on Thursday held a recess hearing covering a taxpayer bailout of union pensions and a plan to seize private 401(k) plans to more "fairly" distribute taxpayer-funded pensions to everyone.

Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa), Chairman of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee heard from hand-picked witnesses advocating the infamous "Guaranteed Retirement Account" (GRA) authored by Theresa Guilarducci.

(You can find the blistering interview with Guilarducci by radio talk show host Mark Levin in 2007 at the link).

In a nutshell, under the GRA system government would seize private 401(k) accounts, setting up an additional 5% mandatory payroll tax to dole out a "fair" pension to everyone using that confiscated money coupled with the mandated contributions.

This would, of course, be a sister government ponzi scheme working in tandem with Social Security, the primary purpose being to give big government politicians additional taxpayer funds to raid to pay for their out-of-control spending.

I really don't see how they would get this past a filibuster without Repellican complicity. Hence, lacking a guarantee of that, why would the Slave Party hold such hearings before an election, knowing that they would get caught and this would flush them so low they'd never see the light of day?

Hence, the fix MUST be in and we must do what we can to correct that situation by making sure that the likes of Neil Cavuto are asking those pointed questions immediately and repeatedly.

This would be awful if it ever saw the light of day but this is probably the fifth time I’ve heard about this since Obama took office and the actual bill has never gotten out of committee. Right now it’s a crackpot scheme that has no legs and it is not worth wasting time, angst and anger upon.

"his will never happen. People would take up arms."

Right.

Lots of people have wondered what it would take for the millions of "tea partiers" to come to rallies and to Washington armed;
this would do it.

Two quotes come to mind:

"Every normal man must be tempted at times to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin to slit throats."

And...

"If a man is determined to kill you, he'll find a way to do it"

How does this special election work? Salazar’s term would have ended in January. Will the new Senator finish the remainder of the term and then start his term or are there 2 elections with the same candidates, one for the special and one for the regular term? I know that sounds crazy, but what are the legalities.

They’ll just put it in a bill that has to be voted on before anybody is allowed to read it.

Against armed federal marshals and FBI agents? That would be a very short firefight.

Against softer targets.

This has always been in the works–it has not even been hidden very well. It has been proposed and talked about for years. And, as another poster pointed out, they plan to take every single penny of your money that they can get their hands on–they plan to take it with sales tax, FICA, unemployment tax, state tax, VAT tax, 1% transaction tax, and especially they will go after all your savings.

Why?

Didn’t anyone on free Republic read the interviews that I posted that came from the man who went to school with Barack insane Obama at Occidental College? Didn’t all of you read what he said? This is at age 18 or 19–do you think he has changed at all since then? Or has he just hidden it so that he could get elected?

Dr. John C Drew, PhD, stated over and over again to any media that would listen, that Obama was a rabid Marxist at school–and that he feels all the rich people got their money unfairly, by stealing it from all the poor people.

And, as Joe the plumber found out, he plans to rectify that by redistributing the wealth–that means taking your savings and your yearly earnings and confiscating it and taxing it to death until the government controls all that money that they can hand out now to more worthy people, people that are more worthy than you–you are not worthy because you work.

You are not worthy because you paid your mortgage. You’re not worthy because you saved up money–this means that you are a scurvy dog, because as he told Dr. Drew, rich people could only possibly get all their money by stealing it from poor people -—they took it from the poor people and they are unworthy of having it and now Barack Obama thinks he has all the power in the world and is going to give it back to where it came from i.e. the leeches and the non-workers of America.

This is where he gets his votes from this is where he gets his power from.

Do you really think that the unions are worth a $175 an hour? Did you see them drinking and smoking marijuana at 10:57 AM in the morning?

That is Barack Obama’s America–—those are the Americans that he wishes to support–did you see them all cheering and shouting when he went to visit their factory, to announce that he was giving a $40 billion gift to those 800 GM workers?

Wouldn’t you cheer too?

Hell, maybe I also would…

Do not doubt it. They’re coming for your 401(k) money, and only waiting for another “crisis” to grab it.

Get prepared

Be prepared

I weep for my country.

Old, wealthy people just need to die. Then there will be social justice, or something like that. Can we all sing Lennon’s song now?

In Colorado, Bennett will stay on until January 3, so that seat won’t help in the lame duck session when it flips.

This will not happen, with the butt-kickin they’re about to receive, it’ll be a do nothing, hardly anyone around Lame Duck session, unless they really want to see how mad we really are. Peelousi and nobama can talk big and damn little else.

On one hand, Rats will have an incentive to pass tough items in a lame-duck session before the new, more Republican congress is seated. And they would be able to hold defeated members in line on the basis that they’ll get blackballed from lobbying and other cushy ex-pol jobs if they don’t vote the right way.

On the other hand, Republicans should be able to maintain a unified opposition and filibuster anything seriously dangerous in the Senate, and even if the “Maidens from Maine” or who-have-you drifts off the reservation, Ben Nelson or some other Democratic senator skittish about running in 2012 will likely cross over and make up for it. So I’m not at the stage of messing my pants.

Big Labor will try to get it’s payback for spending millions of Members dues on getting Obama elected and general mismanagement. Let the Union bosses have to explain to their “Brother and Sisters” how all money they were forced to give to the Union for the wonderful benefits is all gone.
