“The Republican plan for Social Security is to turn it all over to the private sector”.”

For the last week or so, in typical election year fashion, the Dims have been using ‘the mean Republicans want to take away your social security’ meme to scare seasoned citizens.

Yep, same old Dem playbook. They trot this out every election cycle. In the meantime, Obamacare takes $500 billion out of Medicare. Cantor should have responded using that factoid. Millions of Medicare recipients are being pushed out of Medicare Advantage plans.

Light my fire. Oh, wait.

Just thinking this morning that guilt is a dangerous emotion. I’m thinking of guilt about past wrongs that lead well-meaning (but stupid) people down a weedy garden path.

Guilt over abuse of homosexuals, for example, has protected the loathsome Barney Frank, who has a huge hand in destroying the economy. Also, there wasn’t much outcry at all when it was discovered that his ‘friend’ was running a bordello at Barney’s place.

Guilt over treatment of blacks has caused enormous harm. Affirmative action has only served to reveal the inadequacy of over-promoted blacks. (Obama, anyone?)

Guilt over being a wealthy country—we don’t want to give up our tvs and toilet paper, so why don’t we ... you name it, give a bunch of money to third world countries that is promptly grabbed up by cruel dictators and never helps the people.

Guilt over the environment. There’s a fabulous column on Lucianne’s must reads today about Green wackos.

I am starting to hate colors. Green—hate it. Pink — hate it too. Rainbow — hate that.

I think I do need to go to church.

Well, it was NOT Republicans who took over healthcare and put in death panels. OR, the auto industry, college loans, the housing industry, the home improvement industry, or the financial industry.

It was NOT Republicans who drove out of the USA the last light bulb manufacturer and is forcing so-called energy efficient light bulbs on everyone in the country.

"Give me a village idiot hoping to climb the party ladder, one with no morals or brains....and boom.....there you have it."

Yep. That description fits Debbie Wasserman-Positive-Schultz to a T.

FNF reported that an Congress critter/Obama advisor is advocating raising the retirement age to 70 in ONE STEP.

this is a trial balloon to fool the public to “compromise” to two additional years. The ratchet effect.

Once again we hear about the 750,000 jobs lost in one month.

Now we are losing 500,000 jobs EVERY week. No one brings that up.

Evidently the new math is at home in the dem party.

“Crude and rude must be the ‘rat campaign strategy.”

I think they call it reaching out to their base.

I like this. Guilt for being an American and living in the greatest country in the world covers a host of issues.

I’m wondering if little Juan Williams feels guilty for being on FNC as others don’t have that opportunity? Maybe Chrisy Mathews feels guilty for being white and supporting a leftist progressive? And, probably, the Democrats all feel guilty for being Americans?

As the local phrase goes, the “spots* are running” now (in season) so while you’re up here try to sample some. They’re not a big game fish but they are delicious little critters.

*(Virginia spot - cousin of the croaker. They migrate out of Chesapeake Bay and down the Carolina coast this time of year.)

Well you sure nailed it on the guilt thing.

I also hate pink and think football players wearing pink shoes is dumber than dirt.

My mother-in-law, her picture should be under “guilty white woman whose husband worked hard all his life, went to college on the GI bill, got a job as a bank teller than rose to President, who moved herself and children across country from Indiana to Massachusetts seeking more fortune, who obeyed all laws and didn’t go over what they could afford, remained married and faithful for over 50 years and now, dammit, I feel really bad about how homos have been mistreated, never mind my grandson’s Aunt “married” her live in girlfriend and now poor child’s gotta live with this as my conservative son suffers barbs and brickbats over his demand that his son not be told about that situation until the time is right, and I feel bad about all the black people been mistreated and Obama’s such a nice, soft talking fellow and add that Rachel Maddow seems to keep it all sanely in perspective”.

Yeah, THAT picture.

Too typical of how guilt can skew all logic right out the window.

I’m wrestling with some guilt issues myself, maybe I’ll elaborate later after the thread dies down.

Washerwoman wants it both ways. She said the only people who got tax cuts during Bush were the rich. So she should be happy that the repubs voted NO.

If there is intelligent life out there people will see her for the shill she is.
