Going to add in Emmers web site, he’s a great model for someone coming out on top no matter what the liberal media tries to throw at him.

http://www.emmerforgovernor.com/

And the part I really like, abbreviated for the main points;

Part I: Plan for Job Creation
http://www.emmerforgovernor.com/budget/jobs/
1. Provide tax relief to encourage job creation and business investment...
2. Reform state regulation...
3. Reform the state’s education systems...
4. Reform state government to improve efficiency and lower the cost of the public sector...

Morning AB, All…

As always, thank you AB for doing this thread. Hope all is well with yon readers, that life is good, that the weather round your way is as beautiful as here in the swamps of Delaware.

Last week I wrote a little post from Lancaster, PA because…well that’s where I was. Daughter/granddaughter and myself all took a little trip to Lancaster as we wanted a weekend together.

I had a wonderful time and will later share an anecdote about granddaughter that involves height requirements for rides, Christine O’Donnell and mean liberals.

As I recall someone asked me about Lancaster on the thread last week. I didn’t have time to answer but do have some thoughts on the town. First, as this thread is read by folks across the fruited plains, a little background about Lancaster, Pa for those who don’t know. Lancaster and the surrounding area is populated by a large Amish population. It is a nice touristy type of area where small towns with names like BIRD-IN-HAND or INTERCOURSE (I’m not making that up) have Amish run stores and restaurants that sell quilts and family style plentiful meals, in that order.

It’s also a great lesson in culture for such as granddaughter, who did see an Amish buggy last week and it was her first time.

As these things go, hotels and motels spring up, restaurants, and in the case of Lancaster, an amusement park known as Dutch Wonderland.

Lancaster, Pennsylvania. What can I say? I have for my entire life considered that area a nice getaway, through four marriages and some singlehood. Folks, it’s going downhill.

Now understand there’s a struggle to preserve the businesses. We stayed at a Howard Johnsons, a bit worn for the age. The whole place smelled like disinfectant in that matter of motels getting a bit frayed for the age. But it was clean and well-managed, make no mistake.

The worst thing I noticed about the area is the horrific traffic. Lancaster is a small town, I understand this. And small towns don’t congeal all that well with loops and jug handles and expressway ramps. Still, there has to be a better way to get around than navigating traffic jams and endless waits at red lights.

As for Dutch Wonderland, well granddaughter had a great time as kids do at places with rides and games. But it too is showing age and frankly it’s a bit dated with the rides in this day of stand-up roller coasters and such.

The area’s biggest “resort” hotel, known as Willow Valley, was impossible to get a room for though I tried for two weeks at the tail end of the season. Though Autumn is probably a good time to ride through Pennsylvania Dutch Country, I’ll allow.

Anyway, I don’t know what’s going on with the O’Donnell campaign. “Experts” have been hired and yet volunteers are still doing things. I was in on a conference call involving some friends of mine and stuff to be done for the political campaign. One conferee said something to the effect that they would be “going around” one of the paid staff and right there I rolled my eyes and decided I’ll just wait it out and wait until someone official directs me.

And so that is how I ended up being in charge of campaign Editorials and such. But again, confusion reigns. One evening, as I read my email, I peruse one email that was addressed to someone else with a CC to me. I read with interest the details about proposed letters to “Independents” and three paragraphs down I read this:

“Pat Fish of Sussex County is in charge of all campaign writing so I am going to run this proposed letter past her.”

Well I didn’t know I was in charge of all campaign writing. Although there was some convoluted email that too passed through my Ebox stating how this would be a great job for me and IF I accepted the assignment-this from Christine’s sister-….then some verbiage on stuff I would be doing.

I did “accept” the assignment but until that CC of an email passed my eyeballs….well hell, I’m confused. Does this mean I must approve all letters and campaign writing and such?

I tell this story that you may smile. I’ll get it all straight next week.

Thanks for the thread AB.

Good Sunday morning to all.

Glad to hear that Emmer did well last night. 0bama is coming to Minneapolis to campaign for Dayton on Oct 23 - hopefully, he’ll *help* Dayton’s campaign as much as he *helped* some of the others last year.

the cost of the public sector...

That should be the phrase on the lips of every contestant and every election worker from now til Nov 2.

That is what must be driven home to the millions of people who are just now waking up to what has happened to our "public" sector.

wasserman shulz: "giving tax breaks" makes my ears bleed! People "keeping the money they earn" is what should be understood by every taxpayer and government check recipient alike!

Wasserman....heh....

...in front of a mirror, ALL night, she practiced that lying spiel.

EXAMPLE: the Dems “passed health care reform and took control of individual health decisions out of the hands of the big insurance industry and back into the hands of their doctors.”

I want to slap this woman clear across the country, calling her nasty names the whole time.

....Wanting to keep rinos in office is so twentieth century!

lol, yep. My guess is that Karl will tone it down today (in re. to O'Donnell, etc.)

Debbie Was Schulz vs. Eric Cantor on FOX. Bret asks the two candidates: Why should voters give Repub's another chance?

Cantor - debt, obamacare, jobs. We have posited ideas/solutions

Sgt. Schultz - Cantor offered no solutions. We saved or created over 3 million jobs (lol), passed obamacare, controlled Wall Street, gave 98% Americans tax breaks. Under Bush/repub's they exploded debt/defecit (???!!!). Uses the tired old driving the car, keys, analogy.

Arghh...

Debbie Wasserman on FSN lying her @$$ off. Talking about how many more jobs have been created under the RATs than the Bush administration.

Moderator prods the RAT babe about using James Carville’s campaign talking points.

She’s being derogatory towards the TEA party, talking about sexual impropriety of Republican congress members and brings up the NAZI REENACTOR like I said they would yesterday.

Eric Cantor repudiates the Nazi candidates.

Schultz speaks purely off the Dem talking points script. She evokes utterly no sincerity.

FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Reps. Eric Cantor, R-Va., and Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla.

Wasserman “Saved or created 3...”[Yeah, go to recovery.gov and add every quarter, quite a contradiction to the unemployment numbers, but who’s paying attention to that?]

Wasserman “adding 100,000 private sector jobs a month”[just not in the USA]

Wasserman “that’s why we will hold the majority on November 2”

The scary thing is that Leftist Wasserman Schultz believes what she says and then injects her smarmy little laugh when Cantor is speaking.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz impugns the Tea Party saying
they are putting a stranglehold on the GOP and uses
a NAZI teaching example, claiming they lead the Tea Party.
(Refuted/disputed by Rep. Eric Cantor)

This comes after Schultz falsely claims that the Obama
administration made jobs, while the REAL DEAL is:

Targeting, unearned redistribution.

“Wasserman — new wiggle phrase for talkingpoints memos: ‘giving tax breaks’”

Wasserman can recite phony Dem talking points better than anyone. We could she was fired up when she started out with their new phrase “this election is going to be a very clear choice.” She even managed to get the thing in about the keys to the car. She lies with such amazing ease. What a disgusting creature!

Schultz interrupts others with words and her haughty laugh
(especially when caught in one of her frequent falsehoods).
In between, she played her "card" and claimed they interrupt her.

There goes her laugh again. And her interruption, "Eric .."
