Jon Runyan Statement on Congressman John Adler Planting a Fraud Tea Party Candidate in NJ-3 Race
Mount Laurel, October 8, 2010 The following is a statement from Republican congressional candidate Jon Runyan (NJ-3) that was delivered at his 2:00pm press conference.
Ever since our campaign established links between Congressman John Adler and the fraudulent candidacy of Peter DeStefano, I knew there was a possibility that something much more sinister was going on.
Certainly something unethical. Perhaps even something illegal. Todays Courier Post story proves that my instincts were right.
What Im about to say is going to sound harsh. But its not out of anger.
Its out of frustration that politics in our country has become so toxic that the important issues we face have to take a backseat to garbage like this.
My opponent, John Adler, represents everything that is wrong with politics in this country today.
He is dishonest. He lacks principle.
And hes clearly willing to say or do anything to win re-election and cling to power.
The fact that he and his team would intentionally try to defraud and disenfranchise voters by planting a fake candidate in the race with the intention of confusing people and stealing votes from me is disgraceful.
I would ask for an apology, but frankly, an apology from someone like Congressman Adler would be so meaningless that its not worth seeking.
Let me be clear
I want to win this election and I am working very hard every day to do just that. I am pouring my heart and soul into it.
I want to go to Congress and serve the people of this district and make a difference in my community and in my country.
However, win or lose, I want to go home to my wife and three kids at night and be able to look them in the eye and have them be proud of who I am and how I conduct myself.
THAT is the difference between me and politicians like John Adler.
Ive said it one form or fashion since the day I got in this race
If we want to change this country, we need to change the people who run it.
Its not about Democrat or Republican. Its about the person.
And this whole affair proves John Adler is not the right person to represent this district.
This may be the “jump the shark” moment in this race.
He should challenge him to a fist fight for the seat. It deserves nothing less.

Long story with details.
Outstanding statement by Jon Runyan!
I live in their district. Runyan lawn signs outnumber Adler’s 10 to 1. Adler’s TV ads are the same old class warfare BS. Runyan lives in a mansion blah blah blah.
That was a POWERFUL and PASSIONATE and effective statement. I would be surprised if it doesn’t take him over the top
To bad no one is going to print it.
All “Tea Party” candidates are frauds trying to help Democrats. Real TEA partiers are part of a movement, not a political party, and they support whatever candidates seem best (mostly Republicans, of course).
Know Adler from years ago he is a little weasel and the others behind this are old time corrupt dem pols.
bump.
GO John, GO! What a great atatement, sums it up well.
It is too bad Mr. Runyan is too civilized to just beat the crap out of him. I would pay to see it.

More details, perhaps? There are 435 congressional districts, so it’s very difficult to follow the ins and outs of each race.
Who did what, when, etc.?
Thank you.
We had the same thing happen in New York. Someone tried to run on a tea party line to take votes away from Paladino. I believe Paladino’s people succeeded in getting him off the ballot.
It’s been posted in this thread, and if you read the sidebar, it was a major story on Front Page news. Are you sure you’re a FReeper? Most of us have the skills to research things on our own.

I wrote you a nice post requesting the info. There was no need to get $hitty with me. In the time it took you to write your asinine post to me, you could have instead given a synopsis that anybody who happened onto the thread could see WITHOUT having to hunt for the information.
Further, if you’d ever taken the basics of simple, clear writing, you’d know that any written composition openly available to any reader should include basic information such as who, what, when and where.
Duh.
And as for whom is really a freeper and isn’t, most freepers don’t treat others as $hitty as you have here, so pi$$ off.
Thats chest bump worthy!
