If that is true, better late than never. If nothing else, it could pay dividends in the sentencing phase.
The trial is delayed until 4 November. The Defense appealed to a higher court to order the biased judge to vacate her ruling that does not let discovery of Obama's hidden records, and the Defense asked the higher court put a hold on all court proceedings until the higher court makes a decision on the Writ of Mandamus.

How does a defendant fire his attorney of record during the middle of a trial without first obtaining the courts permission?

The charges were carefully drawn up to put Lakin in the least defensible position. I’ve only been on one court martial board, and it was just for sentencing of a low level enlisted caught using cocaine & stealing from his squadron mates (FWIW, we all considered the stealing more offensive than the drug use...19 and stupid isn’t as bad as 19 and stealing from your friends). But I think the sentencing of Lakin will be light. He isn’t your common deserter or protester.
For those that are cynical, the harsher the sentence, the worse Obama looks...but I think the sentencing phase will be like the one I did - we just wanted to get it right, and I think that will happen again. I think his arguments about WHY he missed will be discussed during the sentencing phase and the Board will end his career and not much else.
That prediction isn’t worth the price of a cup of coffee, but the large majority of officers I met would try very hard to do the right thing if they ended up on a board like this. And improper command influence would be far more dangerous to the higher ups than just letting things fall as they might.

I'm sorry, but I can't help you with your delusions about me. I have been honest and consistent in my estimation of Lakin’s legal situation, and have seen that estimation substantiated in every ruling to date. This thread simply noted that I believe it is a positive for Lakin to acquire appropriately experienced civilian counsel. I believe that estimation will be substantiated by events as well if the rumors are in fact true.

It was the same with the Orly Taitz threads. Every operative they could get out of the Holder DOJ was on those threads,to demoralize their political opponents. It backfired. Now 60% of America believes Obama is foreign born. amd that will drive this election on Nov. 2nd, and it will eventually destroy the Obama pretend presidency.
It will be the same with the trollification of the threads on the Lakin case. It will simply convince many more Americans that Obama is not one of us and needs to go.
Congress isn’t in charge of the court martial. The military officer who is knows NOTHING could hurt him as much as being found to have exhibited undue influence.
Nor does he need to. No one denies Lakin missed the movement. When the Appeals court comes back and says the judge acted properly in denying the birth certificate - which she did - then Lakin’s best bet is to plead guilty and concentrate on explaining his actions in the sentencing phase.

Wishing that the San Francisco city council would pass an ordinance to interfere with a private business just you you won’t be forced to occasionally clean out your own back seat doesn’t sound like a particularly conservative stance to me.
