It's looking like all out war against Fox News.
Just days after the president slammed the cable news network, declaring it "destructive" to America's long-term growth, the feds are suing Fox News for allegedly retaliating against a reporter who says she was discriminated against because of her age and gender.
It's the latest in increasingly hostile rhetoric against Fox News, not only from Obama but from Rahm Emanuel and the president's former communications director.
According to the lawsuit, filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on Thursday, Catherine Herridge, a national correspondent who covers homeland security complained about discriminatory practices in the network starting in 2006.
Herridge, now 46, claimed "female and black correspondents were given less desirable shifts" in the network and that oftentimes assignments (including an anchor job) were denied or "taken away from her" due to her sex and age.
In 2008, the network said it found no evidence of bias, and when her contract came up for renewal, it included language barring her from making more discrimination complaints, according to the lawsuit.
Herridge, who joined Fox News in 1996 as a London correspondent, refused to sign the contract.
The lawsuit says the language in the contract was retaliatory.

” Greta and her success at Fox News rebuts the allegations or sex and age discrimination.”
Exactly
“If you want to see a lily white, all male broadcast team... just check out MSNBC!!!”
What about Christianne AmanPour?? Oh, I see!
...but we could always use more!
“can they find a knowledgeable commentator that isnt a bleached blond or black woman (or Karl Rove?)”
Check those women out. To a person, they are VERY intelligent; lawyers or having an advanced degree, and attractive. Megyn Kelley can interview with the best and is a thorough analyst.
Best thing is they are mostly right leaning. Remember E.D. Hill? Keryn Chetry?
She filed with the EEOC.
Yep. It appears Oboma Inc. is butting in where it doesn't belong - again. (He 's a Hugo Chavez wanna be.)
God speed 2012!

She should be given a corner office and an anchor job right away, because she deserves it more than those who have earned it.
Catherine is serious and reports on deadly serious topics. I surely respect her for that.
I am not overly impressed with drama queen Meghan Kelly. But that’s just me.
Cleavage has no place nor does short short skirts on serious newscasts.
I didn’t sleep either. The highrise where we spend most of our time had the fire alarm go off at 3:30..........the siren gives heart failure and the strobe light just makes it worse.
No fire, just a malfunction of the false alarm proof new system. hah!
It is a Fed matter because the head fed hates FOX news. With all the women working at Fox I find this hard to believe.
Interesting, I’m watching Catherine Herridge on Fox now. This suit clearly has no merit. If it did, would she still be there?
I always thought she was hot. But that’s just me.
I could feel sorry for her, but frankly, my loss in the workplace was more than hers was. And I didn’t use any of the PC buzzwords! Still, I’d trade places with the switch...
Oh come on, SC. Being an ignorant dope isn’t a capital offense. And what do ratings and sponsor matter in a TV show? It should be all about the anchors’ keeping their jobs as the network slides into oblivion.
After all, the only reason a network news show exists is to show off the female anchors’ shiny lipstick. Everybody knows that.
I remember the good old days, when Mary Hart’s legs were the only reason to watch Entertainment Tonight.
