Rahm = Obama, and everybody knows it.
Having said what I said in #7, still, I think you’re right.
Obama is no longer Chicago’s “favorite son” (sic).
RJ Daley Jr, was a big supporter of Obama’s , but that was
to be expected, since they figured an Obama Presidency in all its glory would validate Chicago, and consolidate another few decades of Democratic hegemony.
Needless to say , it didn’t work out that way, and Daley Jr. has left the picking up of the pieces to some other Democrat, since he’s officially out of politics now.
I say this as someone who grew up in Chicago, and even worked for Dems on the South Side, in Obama’s exact neighborhood, selling advertising for the HydePark-Kenwood VOICES newspaper, when I was 21, in the late 60s.
Rahm would lose, but not because of Obama. Power in Chicago comes from being able to tap into a very tightly woven local political network. As they say in Chicago: "You ain't nobody nobody sent".
Nobody sent Rahm.
The equasion is backward....it should be:
the little tin god = rahm (nuance to be sure; but important)
Given that the little tin god is brain dead, bigoted, racially biased, islamic, muslim, anti-white, anti-rich, egotistic, self-centered, unable to reason, unable to think on (or off) his feet, narcissistic, anti-business, liberal, and progressive....he is now all that rahm trained him to be.
So...it is more likely correct to say the little tin god = rahm!
