Miss Marmelstein! Miss Marmelstein! Miss Marmelstein!
Oh, why is it always Miss Marmelstein?
Miss Marmelstein? Miss Marmelstein?
Other girls get called by their first names right away
They get cozy intimate ... Do you know what I mean?
Nobody calls me: "hey, baby doll!"
Or "Honey Dear" or "Sweetie Pie"
Even my first name would be preferable
Though it's terrible, it might be better: it's Yetta!
Or perhaps my second name that's Tessye
Spells T-E-S-S-Y-E!
But no, no, it's always Miss Marmelstein!
You'd think at least Miss M. they could try...
Miss Marmelstein! Miss Marmelstein!
Miss Marmelstein! Miss Marmelstein! Miss Marmelstein!
Oh, I could die!

He never said “Yonder is the castle of my fodder.” Hypocryphal line made up by Debbie Reynolds on her tv show.

I meant Defiant Ones, not Chained Heat.
I can hear that fun theme from The Great Imposter playing.
Louis D’Amara Jr., he’s still out there but they have just the man to find him!
“Please God, I don’t want to hurt anybody”.

Lemon was definitely on the Left.
I think Lemmon was on the right, Joe E. Brown was on the left.

Thanks, that was a great read.

weird.....I was just thinking about Tony Curtis the other night as the camera showed Jamie Lee Curtis in the DWTS audience clapping enthusiastically for Jennifer Grey.
She really has a lot of his features....but then, she looks a lot like her mother as well.
Prayers up and thanks for the great memories, Mr. Curtis!

I really liked him in both Spartacus and the later comedy, Operation Petticoat. How is that for acting range? Classic line of his from Operation Petticoat: "In CHAOS there is Opportunity." He was the scrounger. A vital part of every military organization from the time of Spartacus to today. I always treasured mine.

I think “Some Like it Hot” is probably the funniest movie ever made, but “Operation Petticoat” is also incredibly funny.

So sorry to lose him.
I adored him in The Purple Mask and many other films and TV shows. He was someone who never lost that self-deprecating humour. He didn’t take himself too seriously.
Tony Curtis was also a wonderful painter. I saw some of his work in Hawaii years ago and I couldn’t believe how good it was. Some people have all the talent.
