The Illegal may find that Emanuel was the glue that held his administration together.

You mean as opposed to while he’s been here? How could they tell?

Does anyone care to speculate at to why he’s bailing at this precise time - i.e. it is more than just wanting to position himself to run for Chicago mayor?

"Rahm has been one of the few White House officials that has tried to keep President Obama from going wimpy and extreme left. Without Rahm, President Obama loses one of the few White House officials that can read the mood of the electorate, stop the never-ending analysis and make a decision."
Key Line. Rahm may be pure evil, but he was at least competent evil. Now all that Obama has left are sycophants and professorial Marxists. There will be nobody in the administration that can even pretend to have any connection to the American People.
Rahm was the one on the team who could have done a pivot to the middle like Clinton did. In fact the rumors repeated in this article say he repeatedly advised that already on Afghanistan, the GM Bailout, and Obamacare. Getting rid of Rahm, especially if he is replaced by someone from the ivory tower elite, will be as big a victory as taking the Senate. It will mean that Obama will still be as unpopular as he is today in November of 2012.

We should do everything we possibly can to see that Rahm loses the mayoral contest.
That would be so sweet.
