A testy U.S. Sen. John F. Kerry yesterday blamed clueless voters with short attention spans for the uphill battle beleaguered Democrats are facing against Republicans across the nation.
We have an electorate that doesnt always pay that much attention to whats going on so people are influenced by a simple slogan rather than the facts or the truth or whats happening, Kerry told reporters after touring the Boston Medical Center yesterday.
Conservative political blogger William Jacobson, who writes Legal Insurrection, immediately pounced on Kerrys comments, saying that attitude is why voters are looking to shake up Capitol Hill by electing upstart candidates such as U.S. Sen. Scott Brown

He would look lovely in an English red coat and powdered wig...
“influenced by a simple slogan...!” Now WHERE have I heard something like THAT before. Let’s see...hopey, changy...! Oh Johnny...if hypocrisy were dollars, you wouldn’t NEED John Heinz’s wife. You’d be the richest senator ANYHOW!!!
Yes, if the great unwashed masses would just listen to what we elites tell them to do them all will be well. Kerry’s comment is typical of liberal elitism which at its core believes that the vast majority of people are too dumb to make the “right” choices in their lives and need elites in government and media to make those decisions for them.
I see a burning windmill and an angry crowd with torches and pichforks in your future.
John Kerry is right - DEMOCRATS don’t pay attention and don’t know what or who they are voting on. Unfortunately for him, Republicans and Independents DO pay attention, which explains why he was on the ballot for President (DEMS who don’t know a thing put him there) and why he lost, despite a press that rallied around him at every turn (Republicans and Independents are informed.)
And, of course, the republicans lost in 2006 and 2008 because they weren’t liberal enough.
Liberal message: Don’t worry, be happy (even though we are driving you and the whole country over a cliff)
