JUNEAU, Alaska – South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint is scolding Republican colleagues for refusing to strip Sen. Lisa Murkowski's leadership position on the energy committee.

DeMint says in a fundraising appeal that seeing this result was more than he could bear. He views colleagues' decision as hurting Murkowski opponent Joe Miller and asks for help raising $150,000 through a political action committee he chairs.

DeMint says the money will allow for ads to be run in Alaska to help stop Murkowski's campaign "dead in its tracks." Murkowski announced last week that she'd mount a write-in campaign to try to keep her job.

” I hope that after the election is over Senator DeMint forms a Tea Party Conservative Caucus and sets out an agenda. He can then present that agenda to the GOP and they can either support it or they will lose the conservative support for any issue that is not a part of our agenda. This kind of thing is the first step toward the birth of a new party and I’m beginning to think it’s past time. “

DeMint will get Support From Rand Paul who said he wanted a Tea Party Senate Caucus when Michele Bachmann unveiled her’s in the House.

It helps that DeMint is a virtual lock to win his own re-election this year.

Mark Orrin Hatch.

He made the announcement.

He also had this to say:

“We all respect the system, and she still is a Republican senator,’’ said Sen. Orrin Hatch (R., Utah.) after the closed party caucus. “It’s just a matter of good taste. We decided to keep the status quo as long as she’s a senator.’’

The disintegration of the RINO Party is continuing right before our eyes. The sooner the the better IMO. The mainstream RINO’s continue to show Americans that they still do not get the message we conservative Americans are sending them. Their so called ‘Pledge’ is just the latest example that they still don’t understand the depth of our anger. They are just trying to ‘handle’ us as they handle their pets.

I read somewhere that it is rumored that she said she would vote with the Dems in a lameduck session if they stripped her of the chairmanship. FWIW

I would not be surprised. And if that's true then it should be revealed officially, and Lisa, after her term is over, should have no role whatsoever in the Republican Party, and no Republican should talk to her ever again should she try her hand at lobbying.

I called Hatch’s DC office two days ago and expressed my disgust with Senator Hatch and my lack of respect. Anyone feeling as strongly about this as I do, please call and express your disgust as well. Apparently, Hatch doesn’t listen to or care to do what We The People want.

It seems to me that all he has to do is buy a lot of ads that say, “Vote for Liza M.”. All the misspelled ones will be tossed out.

I agree with DeMint but suspect that Murkowski may have hinted at breaking ranks on key votes during a lame duck session if she was stripped of her committee leadership position.

I’m beginning to think this whole take away/keep her senior position on the Energy committee was just a ploy to draw attention to her influential position. Sort of like New Coke.

The leadership is going through the motions of supporting Joe Miller, but that’s it. They must think that Murkowski may win if they’re doing this.
